Worst ally in World War II.

Italy was the worst both for its allies and its own people.

In the 30s we were like: "Hey Chamberlain, we stick with ya"

In the 39 we were like: "Hey Adolf, you know what? Changed our mind, stick with ya. We have not a properly equipped army but you know what, who cares!"

In the 40 we decided to make Hitler a big surprise: "Hey 'dolphie, we tried to kick british colonies in Africa but they occupied half of our own. Would you help us?"
And later the same year: "Hey 'dolphie, we went destroying Greece's reins without telling you, would you please delay your invasion of Russia to help us win? The Greeks kicked our asses back to Albania!"

In 1943 the allied stormed Sicily and Mussolini was arrested and deposed.
In september, when the allied was storming Salerno, thinking they would have got to Rome soon after, the King and general Badoglio were like: "Armistice. We'd stick with the allies.".

The germans kicked in, and occupied northern Italy, while the government fled to the south, under british protection, leaving the army and the population without government or orders. Mussolini came back with a puppet state under the Nazis. It was not all quiet and mafia, then. It was all italian underground armies against nazi-fascists, with lots of blood spilled; retaliations, village burned and butchered and so on, with the allies very slowly marching to the north. Similarly to the Soviets at Warsaw the Allies also took a break in Winter 1944, with many resistence fighters being killed by the germans.

Worst ally and worst government EVER.

That's not really fair. The leaders in the thirties weren't the same leaders as in 1939 and/or 1943.

Maybe true, not in Italy tough.
We had Benito Mussolini, leader of the PNF (fascist party) and dictator since 1925 and Vittorio Emanuele III, king (puppet, honestly) since 1900.
In 1943 Mussolini was deposed, arrested and put on the top of a mountain (Gran Sasso).
Vittorio Emanuele III and general Badoglio, who replaced Mussolini, signed the armistice with the Allied and escaped south the same day. Mussolini was freed by Otto Skorzeny. He came back to Italy as Hitler puppet, leading a fascist republic (RSI).
Basically the same persons.

Mussolini at first wasn't really THAT near to nazi Germany; he also said that the nazi's antisemitism was ****.

Then in 1938 he agreed with the "german barbarians" for racial laws against the jews and in 1939 the pact of steel between italy and germany was signed. Then the war and all the stuff that followed. He did not signed the armistice, but the Italian Government (and so "Italy" did).
