Chill out men, both positions are clear, noone wants to play with the german server issues.
France will be played -IF- during that same day, the servers get ddosed or are laggy, no reason otherwise.
If suddenly we're playing and it starts getting ddosed, I'm fine canceling out the round(if both teams agree beforehand) and losing possible upgrade if we're winning as Fietta pointed out, it's part of the risk. Otherwise you may just aswell drop german servers for the full group stage to prevent any possible lag out through official, would make 0 sense.

Why even consider taking those risks. Habi and Kawaii would get similar ping with Error and Janczar. We would maybe have a slight advantage because Varadin would have to play with a slighty higher ping but all other players from your team benefit from French servers aswell like our british and french players do. I bet if the server starts lagging during the set we are gonna have lots of complains on the forum if we could just not take those risks.

One of our key players(Samu) gets packet loss due routing issues or whatever, not the first time he brings it. Despite his ping he gets 'lag outs' making it unplayable for him. That + your quite sure lower ping on average in french servers compared to ours, makes us again, play on the server that everyone plays on regularly which is Germany to accomodate for eastern-western balance. Again, if any kind of issue comes up we'll move to France despite Samu + slight disadvantatge, I personally don't care about 40-60 ping, but it's ironic when some unitys cry about 30.

Admins said the issues should be fixed by sunday so we'll see if they are, we even asked for a restart pre officials, so again, if they get ddosed right on match time, admins should change provider or get 1-2 servers from another one in addition to the current ones to ensure that german servers can be used.

This same risk is maxed out now, but doesn't mean that french servers can't suddenly experience issues(they did in the past considering the amount of competitions they supported quite sure).

So I'm not sure of your point, you wanna stop playing in germany for the full tournament due 2 weeks of issues after these servers have been used for years?

If the lags happen during a set where one team has a huge gear advantage (Up 2-0), you can always re-create their economy on the other server by increasing the starting money and making sure only one team use it by checking the logs. Sure, it's a lot of extra work for admins afterwards and requires an experienced referee to keep track of everything but it should only concerns one round during the whole match which sounds like a decent compromise as it avoids punishing the team in the lead by starting from scratch once they switched on the new server.

To provide a short update about the current situation.

The servers should be stable from now one. Everything has been set up finally and random bigger lag spikes should not occur anymore. We still decided to get some backup. WNL_GER_11-15 are running on a completely different host in a completely different environment. I guess in the next two days you can still try both out and form your own opinion, which one is better performance-wise. If you do not think it is enough time you can also try them out on matchmaking (1-6 normal host, 7-9 backup host). If both teams are unhappy with both hosts the only option for this week will be the french servers. But as I said everything should have been fixed.

That would work but only for the first round, if the other team make a comeback and win the round, they'll have so much money due to the starting gold, they'll have no idea how much they can spend unless they have a calculator on standby. Most people know upgrades by heart, but when you've got a lot of kills, it becomes tricky.

Its 500 if you survive + 150 per kill. If you sell any equipment you get the full cost summed up to gold, and if you survive you keep your 1 to 4 slot in the order that you ended up with in-round. Any empty slot is replaced to whatever you select in that slot for the next round. Not that hard but 100% sure that people wouldnt respect it so not an ideal solution after all.

As said if it ever happens just restart the game from 2-0 for whoever was 2-0 up, but losing the upgrade. It's unfair but well, cannot do much about it.
It's same with crashes tbh. Even finals have been affected in winning close-up sets by those and noone cared for 10 years. (I remember suggesting an option to an admin, never received a response). Some modder could've simply added to the admin tools a 'Pause' option that froze everyone, set the timer to 999, all gold gains to 0% and if flag spawned, coded it in a way that it 'repeats the previous flag' for the following round. Whenever unpaused, all settings would return to normal and players unfrozen. Again, this was ignored and we're 40 days from EA so no point introducing it now, but just weird that community worry about a set being affected by lags once started but not over significant crashes that literally make a team lose most of the times specially using specific setups in high level games.

Great news thanks man!.

Just a friendly reminder to keep your banter a little less on the nose. Phrase yourselves more carefully, it's only funny when it's clever.

Just played on Ger_12 and felt really good whole match 0 lag outs, We're fine playing there or any from that provider. Didn't test the 1-10 ones.
