As nice as it is for a lot of playthroughs to marry and have a family with nobles and more major characters, some playthroughs I'd rather have a family with a lower status person. As an example, if I'm playing as a merc for a playthrough, I'd rather marry someone like a tavern keeper, merchant headman, or companion. If I've totally just missed how to do that someone let me know please!

Yeah, also if we could have a low-status aswell, simple as having land in a village or something, marry a peasant or the daughter of another farmer, gain renown as a protector of that village, train peasants to become a militia and work your way up to become the village leader, make that village prosper and pay your taxes to your lords, that in itself would be already a great experience. Then, if you're not satisfied with your status, you can simply work your way up to a vassal, own a castle, maybe even a town and then king itself, I would love to see that.
