Hello! Have some thoughts about how to improve certain aspects of the game.
First one about heirs. About their skills.
Characters born after starting the campaign grow one time and become full part of the game. From this moment they are able to lead parties, be governors etc. BUT most of them either warriors with, OK, few advanced combat skills or just useless persons with no abilities. Of course, not all of them should become overlords of Calradia. But looking back and reminiscing the state of lords in the early beginning of the campaign... it makes you a little upset cause next generation is worse (?), at least less useful comparing to first one. We have some badass persons in each culture from the start, why not to create few same ones after?
Would be nice to rework this and add heirs some more skills from the moment they grow out of childhood.
About siblings #2. Siblings look totally alike.
New generation is ready and what’s then? In families with a lot of children we have lords (or ladies) with the same appearance. With previous problem it makes them totally impersonal, just copies.
I mean, clans, marriages, birth, death, these things are cool, they make the world more interesting. When you only start playing the game, you don’t have a clue who is who, know nothing about factions, clans. But if you pay attention to details in dialogues, encyclopedia etc you begin to understand some lore. Like “this one is a son of the Emperor killed in battle”, “there is a feud between him and Grand Prince” and so on. Depends on how you play the game, for some players lords are just dummies. For me, interaction with the inhabitants makes each playthrough a unique story. And unique appearance for each lord takes part in it.
But same looking NPCs broke it.
2. Need some algorithm to make siblings look different. Hairstyles, slight difference in sliders, skin color, etc (within reasonable limits)
About siblings #3. Appearance again
On the other hand, sometimes randomization in game create weird things. In latest versions haven’t noticed males dressed like females on the start of campaign. BUT… this new generation, you know. Lords in lady suits look stupid. OK, this isn’t a thing you’ll forget, that makes some guys unique. Game is inspired by Medieval, so I hope it will be solved to keep the atmosphere.
Sometimes Vlandian or Imperial nobles get weird hairstyles. Like barbarian dreads or smth alike, looks not good too. Mention it here but it can be solved in the algorithm I asked for in paragraph#2.
3. Make something to prevent the game from dressing males as females. In long term campaign it becomes a problem, many cases in different cultures.
Now about how game determines who to give fiefs to. Played for different kingdoms, different versions of the game, in each faction there are couple of clans who eager to grab each fief the kingdom conquered. Even ruling clan is not so greedy. There is some logic I noticed like, of course, quantity of fiefs, location of new fief (if it’s close to candidate’s area), relationships with the ruler and voting lords. BUT it’s broken too often, usually there are same persons at the elections and no logic in how they were proposed. As a result, 3-4 clans (with the ruling one) possess most of lands while there are could be clans even without a single city under control. Unable to make smth with this as a vassal, not ruler.
4. Please, make system of granting fiefs more understandable and fair.
Managing the city
5. Would be nice to add an opportunity to cancel some projects already built in settlement.
Most projects of course provide bonuses. BUT training fields in addition increase garrison wages too quick. For little use cause impact of high tier troops on security isn’t worth it. AI tends to build military projects rather soon so when you conquer a settlement in mid game it often has several levels of training fields. OK if it’s a town you usually cover expenses with taxes but with castles it turns into big problem.
