What the F happened with this patch?!

Even without my two caravans which were immediately killed within an hour of loading new patch, i have infinite money. I have two cities and a castle 3 garrisons 3 companion parties my party is 200 man strong as I'm a king and have the best policies set. All this and I'm still positive 2000 denar per day. I have stacks and stacks of lord loot I can't sell it all because the town runs out of money in the shop. Last haul was 74k in some of my loot sales. Sitting at 300k right now. Ai lords have ton of money too . Any ai owning a town longterm have over a million denar . I'm on day 600 for reference.

The problem is not how much loot killing lords gives; it SHOULD be rewarding to defeat a lords party. The problem is how easy it is to beat them, since their armies are always 60% recruits lol.

True. On top of that Lords are rather weak themselves, probably around a tier 4-5 unit in terms of combat.

TW is troll af with the caravan nerf. The average profit/reward of caravans should be 5x what it was pre-patch considering how much they increased the risk.

This is a really good point. I remember a campaign where I was sitting on 1m+ denars, but the barrier to maintaining an elite party was more so finding noble recruits and promoting them rather than the costs. The "too much money lategame" problem is much more from the lack of finding anything to spend it on.
pretty much the only money sink is costs of castles which tax usually covers, food which again is covered by raiding or fighting, the only way i actually lose money is buying equipment for my character/companions or giving it to castles. same with influence theres no other sink than going to war.

Lords already have an 8x troop XP bonus because of this problem. The way they solved this in warband was to give lords instant troops instead of making them run around gathering men from their fiefs, but everybody hated that, so they've added this.

While I agree that we end up too much money and nothing to do with it late-gate, my experience has been that looting enemy lord armies - not passive income - is the main factor in snowballing my player gold. So I don't think the nerfs are going to the right places.
I definitely agree with this. You can easily loot 10k plus 30k-worth-equipment after a won battle with hard odds depending on your or your companion’s roguery skill level while you only gain up to 2k passive income with two caravans. What we need is to have a lot of spending money opportunities during late-game instead of lowering passive income.

So, next step is to do that the player will only gain some ragged clothes and a broken stick after beating a faction's army of 800 men

I guess the lords need to farm more looters then lol

honestly, i just booted up the game after the big caravan nerf and its honestly disgusting what happened. all of my caravans almost immediately died because of it, and theres no real way to protect your caravans other than following one of them around... which is close to impossible to do when you're fighting a war literally all the time. not to mention that when the caravan dies, you gotta put out ANOTHER sack of coin just to get it started up again? ridiculous. they made the caravans absolutely worthless in their current state.

Short version. One day TW will finish the game, and modders will go around remaking the game and doing total conversions so we never have to play Native again. Same as Warband.

Devs need to try to remember what they're good at, and get back to that. Giving us all these options for ways to play the game(hence Sandbox) only to make them completely useless so we have nothing to do and no goals to achieve makes me wonder why they're bothering to develop the game at all.

I officially have nothing nice to say about TW, so I'm out. Uninstalled until they gets their heads on straight, or they finish the game so modders can undo all the damage.

Well, it's already crap loot for the most part, so you can consider it partly nerfed. They also added quality modifiers to the items, such as cracked, rusted, splintered etc.

the thing is about how silly this is is that you can buy a caravan have it travel around for a day and boom its gone then you rebuy it and the next day boom its gone so you just payed 36k so for idk 3k income wtf its basically useless now for the cost

Honestly, I feel the developers are focusing on the wrong things here. Fix, the stability, fix your perks, fix the main quest or just add the kingdom management features. I love the game but "balance" is something that should be left to modders until you can get around to it. The game needs to "work" before getting to that point.

It appears in my game, the 1.2 balance changes have wrecked the economy for new games. I have to sell loot to villages because all the towns have 0-100 denars or so. I've even spent 3,000 denars in town to come back the next day and see them wiped out again. Anyone else notice this?

Send better companion with your caravan to make it more likely to survive and... i think there is perk too... park that make caravans stronger (more elite tropps etc.). So i'am good with it.
Just make that those companions will lvl up during caravan'ing... like tactics when fight and trading when trading...

Exactly. Once you get big enough to take on lords, money becomes a non-issue and progress is limited by other factors. Mainly getting noble recruits (which is a bit too random at the moment), upgrading soldiers or farming influence. Money basically becomes meaningless after you have a fief or two and reach clan tier 3ish.

With that being the case I see no point in spending time nerfing the economy. There are way too many other things to work on like sieges and kingdom/clan management. Getting the game in good working order should be the main priority with so much attention on the game right now.

Yep with you on this. Tha main thing for me is sort out all lags get the game running nice and smooth were ever you are fighting, i love the changes in the game but at this point still find fighting in a battle more fun in WB . there is still something missing here .. its getting better with each patch but not there yet.

Maybe they just need to change the mechanics a bit, you can hire a caravan without assigning companion to it by default, but give player the ability to assign a companion party to escort it if the player so wishes.
