I have a Steam install and a non-Steam install, and noticed that Steam gave me a really small update earlier - what was in it (a fix for the storyline issue I saw mentioned on the support forum recently?), and will it be added as a hotfix available for non-Steam soon?

It was for WB didn't affect VC, no idea what it did, the .exe wasn't touched. Or maybe it was a steam thing...

Actually version 2025h of VC appeared on they're site so... WTF? lol

it was a hotfix for the storyline (a quick WinMerge on the files shows us that), file simple_triggers.txt. Some players were reporting a issue after 2.025 (see support subforum)

Steam/GoG/TW website seem to be updated with the hotfix. The old temporary download (posted by @motomataru) is outdated in case someone is playing storyline with it.

I get an alert from Avast on the new non-Steam update from Taleworlds' site, saying the file may be dangerous. Almost certainly a false positive, but I thought I'd mention it.

you can open it with a WinZip like software (7zip, Windows 10 explorer, etc).

-> That is in case someone doesn't want to use the installer (which just moves the files to the correct folder)

Yes, we had to rescind the attempted fix to campaign death. We will bring our website up-to-date soon. Sorry for the confusion.

Its a free expansion to the base game (VC) with new features you can see on first post here: https://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,332049.0.html

if you buy on Steam it will be the one you get (auto update). No need to install anything else.

if you buy from TW you just download the latest version from their website (currently 2.025). It is all there (remember to use Warband 1.16

Wow I see the Competitions have changed drastically for the better! The competitions were always so drastically tilted against the user, now I have a fighting chance!

Just food for thought and looking to the future. Perhaps competitions could include archery(using the bulls eye targets), horseback riding  and spear throwing contests(again, bulls eye targets), in addition to the fights.

Beefing up shields a bit for the competitions, or adding a second shield(as was customary in some duels) as well as two handed axe duels would be interesting.
