Sometimes the stuff is so dry that it pulverizes when cutting it up for rolling. You can't roll a decent clean joint out of 'em. The same applies when it's really strong stuff and a small amount gets you effing high. A bowl eats up such weeds too fast, especially when multiple people are smoking. Rolling with tobacco becomes necessary with such.

I mean; just mix it, you wusses.

I've never encountered such weed but I've been pretty lucky in maintaining connections ever since I started so I guess I've always had quite a bit of choice in the quality. Especially since Colorado legalized it, so much weed coming out of there lately.

It seems people from more tobacco friendly cultures were weed is harder to come by or sold in smaller amounts (ie the UK) tend to mix. I always mix because it burns better and that's just what I'm used to.
