if you go to download version 2.4 it says the link is broken to mount and blade repository

Nah, not really. We're almost done with coding, afaik. Now it's tying loose ends, fixing obvious mistakes (not many left we hope), testing and balancing.

Since there's no dev blog or some other source of information, it's understable that people are sceptical or speculative.
There was a slowdown in development recently, but this last week there was some substantial work. Triglav made several rounds tinkering with the scenes, and GetAssista and me made progress with bugfixing and traits. Unless someone comes up with another "oh, we must have this too", I predict a period of testing and bugfixing. Don't ask for how long, because nobody knows.
