Splintered arrows?

In general, barbed arrows are better than regular arrows. However, if you have splintered regular arrows you have 27 of them doing 0 bonus damage. If you have splintered barbed arrows you have 20 of them doing 0 damage. This makes splintered regular arrows better than splintered barbed arrows.

Perhaps a better point, to be addressed by someone who knows something about archery, is...Can splintered arrows of any type actually do something besides start a fire? I sort of wonder if they should change the name to warped arrows or something. Or just get rid of damaged arrows altogether. The same could be asked about bows too.

Probably the splintered arrows (lowest tier arrows) should have an additional stat reduction but it was overlooked, as it is they're less valuable as loot for functional the same as arrows. Interestingly you can obtain large bag of arrows and large bag of bolts from loot, that don't seem obtainable in stores but are desirable.
