I've been making hats lately in the Steam Workshop for the Steampunk airship game: Guns of Icarus. My first hat has been accepted by the devs and hopefully my second one will be too.

Here's my Steam Workshop page if anyone happens to own the game and would like to show some support.

Cool work, really fits the game, devs would be missing a lot not to accept more stuff from you.

Anyone got any tips/resources I can look at to learn how to create effective hand painted style textures?
I kinda have an idea, I don't know if directly applying model painting techniques is a good idea.

Hi,
I'm working on this gun:

I'd appreciate any feedback

Highpoly render looks guite solid and smooth to me. :shifty: But trigger shape looks kinda strange in my mind, wondering does the gun really have trigger like that.

Edit: Here's little peak on my handpainted tileable stone texture i'm working on. Texture currently only has basic stone shape, shading and color variation.
Starting to paint main details next.  :fruity:  Texture is placed on the cube 4x4.

I think I'm done with hi-poly:

Thanks, it's MP40, trigger looks similar i think

What software do you paint in?

After months without doing anything, I have finally found the time and motivation to finish this model, MG-08 Heavy Machine Gun:

@Artizan: Excellent model. I think you need to add more gloss.

Two works in progress. The Grenadier battalion of Neuchatel and the Caucasian warrior of the 19th century.
