Would love to see a more eastern Asian based faction, could tie in well with a naval dlc
how about a faction that is not based on any historical cultures, the ancient evil of calradia, a story long forgotten in warband, but still vivid in bannerlord, I call upon you THE DARK KNIGHTS INVASION DLC FACTION! https://mountandblade.fandom.com/wiki/Dark_Knight
I think you're probably right about East Asia, I'm sure Taleworlds will have seen the popularity of the mod Gejokujo aswell, these regions and time era's definitely have a big pull for players. They would have to rebuild Calradia again. So I don't think TW will publish any native expansion as a DLC.History based DLCs as a new modules are more likely (I would bet ancienct Roman as the first one, maybe Napoleonic Era and East Asia (China/Japan)).
EDIT: East Asia DLC is more than sure imho, since TW is now investing more PR resources into that region (for example beta invitations for chinese players)
It's almost like the early Rus state was founded by Vikings. Early Rus weapons, armor and culture was heavily Norse influenced and as time went on the Slavic aspects along with the Orthodox Christian & Byzantine influence grew and 200 years later in Warband we have a 12/13th century onward style Rus faction and a distinct Scandinavian-ish faction.Sturgia is more like Scandivian/Viking culture. I haven't seen any related rus-like culture.

The early Rus nobles looked like Vikings (Because they were)...
Plus growing Slavic & Byzantine influence through settlement and close ties with the Roman Empire.
Then 200-300 years later....
Battania are a far more egregious representation of their cultural inspiration.
Norwegians were called to rule ... but they were invited by local nobles (Slavs, Finns), and not ordinary peasants. .Yes, they were similar to the Scandinavians, but the local influence, as well as the eastern influence from the steppe, must also be taken into accountThe early Rus nobles looked like Vikings (Because they were)...
Very nice! +1, I still want more depth, features, quests and interaction before we add more factions, but Africa would be my first pick.African faction with territory below the Aserai
Not a huge fan of their design, but Dane Axes have to be there somewhere, would rather a huscarl or nasal helmed dude in chainmail wielding them but guess the Berserker trope needs to be there.Only ulfhednars don't fit
They were, and they came in large numbers to live in the new Rus state (marrying into and assimilating into Slavic families which already had been mixing with steppe culture for centuries and the Varagians did fight steppe tribes to form the Rus) and the close ties with Byzantium - literally mentioned that. But Norse & pre-Viking culture hadn't existed in a vacuum before the Rus either, pretty much all iron age Finnic weapons were of a Norse design too. Never said to ignore any other thing - But people constantly saying "They're Viking not Rus" is painful even though the singleplayer units have already been shown to have far more variation (For every faction). But some people seem to be expecting them to look like 13-14th century Rus 200 years before Warband.Norwegians were called to rule ... but they were invited by local nobles (Slavs, Finns), and not ordinary peasants. .Yes, they were similar to the Scandinavians, but the local influence, as well as the eastern influence from the steppe, must also be taken into account
developers actually wrote about this in a blog
Mine too! We could have a couple of smaller factions, representing the kingdoms of Mali or Songhay in the west and Ethiopia and the like in the east, with a Sahara-like desert in between them and the Aserai, that's difficult and perilous to cross and rife with bandits.Very nice! +1, I still want more depth, features, quests and interaction before we add more factions, but Africa would be my first pick.
I think they will do something like with warband, not necessarily add new factions to the campaign map but instead do a different region like the caucusus or africa or whatever, but based on their history of dlc's its nothing like ck2 and whatever else you wanna say its not gonna be like that and I hope it doesn't go like thatI hope they´ll add factions with dlcs, like a Geroa dlc which contains a new continent with Mongolian,Chinese,Japanese and an Indian inspired faction, would love to see those throwing chakrams
