New cd key

Hey guys,

I just bought this game, hoping to connect to a friend's LAN network, but my cd key wont validate. It just says "validating cd key" and then refuses to connect. I literally just bought it today, maybe the cd key generator ****ed up? Either way, I'd like to start a dialogue with support, I just want a cd key that freaking works and I have it on steam to prove I bought it.

I've tried every ****ing server in the game, and it never gets past the initial "verifying cd key" part. Apparently, it says online that it might take a while to register, I'll update tomorrow.

aaaaand still nothing, can't connect to any server with the steam cd key that came with the game. I've submitted a ticket through steam, either I get a refund or I get a working cd key, pretty annoying to have to go through all this because apparently some idiot couldn't code a proper cd key generating function.

Here are the two things that may help:
1. Verify your game cache (via Steam)
2. Reinstall the game

Also, have you ever shared your CD key with other people? If so, that would explain everything.
