Ok, me and my g/f have started pooling our money together and needless to say while we do have a lot more money to buy stuff for us, such as going to the beach, movies....etc, my games are sadly short changed  . So we got a game y/day, the expansion for Black and white 2. The rule was i have to wait 6 months to buy one myself. WHAT DO I DO!?!? I dont wanna break that cuz i gave my word...but wtf do i do. I cant even last a month before i buy like 3 new games. anyone??

You can also exchange your games with friends, or trade at ebay, or your local online marketplace.

Try your local library. I know here they rent out games, and actually have quite a nice selection. Thing that sucks, atleast here, is that new games are normally hard to get a hold of. You can put them on hold, but, sometimes the wait can be months. You also have to deal with scratches. But, it's free, and it's legal. So, you may want to try that.

Why not try some free games out?  Go visit the freeware games thread.

Also, it sounds like you came up with this "6 months" limit because of financial constraints, right?  Well, personally I think buying a $10 game every two months is just as cheap as buying a $30 game every 6 months.  Try asking your girlfriend what she'd think of you getting $5/$10 games out of the bargian bins or off Amazon and EBay, as long as you stayed within budget.  There are plenty of good games that you can get for cheap.

The other word of advice I'd give is to go for games with a lot of gameplay.  For example, Neverwinter Nights, Counter-strike, Guild Wars, Oblivion - all of these are games that you can play for a long time with a lot of variation.  Neverwinter Nights and Counter-strike are probably pretty cheap, as well.

So: freeware thread, cheap games, games with a lot of replay value.

Oh, finally, you must know some other gamers.  Why not trade games with them every now and then?

Guild wars is the only game in that list that I'd play. Dunno about Rise Of Civilizations, never heard of it. WoW is a burning pile of ****, and Age Of Conan will be the same most likely.

Or, set up an internet porn site featuring the two of you, and use the proceeds to buy games (should be able to get one bargain basement game this way).

I have guild wars, and personally its not the best game I've played...

The beginning is rather dull..

Fun thing is you unlock new items when you go through the game every time!

Mostly by winning wars with friends and clans.

going to the movies or the beach shouldnt cost much, movies is just the ticket and maybe some food, the beach is just.. the petrol there and maybe an ice cream and sandwich. i an understand she wants to go out, but don't let her control your cash. just make sure you've got $50 or something on the side each week to take her out with, this is crazy.

By doe, are you referring to money (for which dough would be the correct spelling) or the gal?

I think that if you are pooling money it is important to both agree on expendatures. Not a matter of 'taking her out' but rather that two people are more conservative than one. And $50 on the side per week? Damn! I've never felt comfortable spending that kind of money. We're talking about more than we used to spend on food, and about half of what our rent was.
