Modding so two factions can't fight each other

The title may sound weird so let me explain it :smile:. I'm designing a new mod and one
feature will be having one faction in different time periods. Like U.S army 1865 - 1874
and U.S army 1874 - 1890 by example. Ofcourse these 'factions' are the same but in different
timeline, ingame they count as two separate factions. Is it possible to mod it so these separate 'factions'
can't fight each other in a multiplayer server ? So as the example, U.S army 1865 - 1874
and U.S army 1874 - 1890 can't fight each other ?

I hope I'm clear enough :mrgreen:
 
Hm, I am not a modder so do not take me too seriously , but why not explain that  to your players that they should not setup matches like that?  :lol:

I'm going to wait if others tell it's possible or not to mod it so two faction's can fight
each other, but I'll keep your idea in mind :smile: . Just one question, won't it take too much
space to 'divide' the mod in time periods ?
 
If I recall correctly , the only difference between your modules would be in ONE faction... Just complete the first one and modify that faction  :mrgreen:
