Hello everybody, we are a group of Chinese players who love Mount & Blade. We intend to make mod based on Chinese history and legends. : The Tripartition- The Dragon Awakes is our first work.

I know that some of you already know that this mod is released, and I'm sorry to keep you waited for information so far, here is the intro of the mod:

Description:
The Tripartition “苍龙三国” MOD is a Chinese MOD recur a famous epoch in Chinese History.

The Tripartition is a time period in Chinese History during the Year AD 208 and AD 280. In those passed ages, the Cao's Wei State, the Liu's Shu State and the Sun's Wu State were established one by one, and they opposed on each other. That's why that the Chinese name the era as the Tripartition.

This Mod is Not only base on the civil-war history of the Han nation, But also including some important elements from the Chinese well knowing classical novel, the "The Romance Of The Three Kingdoms(三国演义) " :
-- the HEROES! Who have courage to against thousand blades!
-- the CHARGERS!! They are Equipped and Waiting for masters!!
-- the BLADES!!! Flashing for the PEACE of our Homeland!!!
-- And the LADIES!!!! Of course, they love the just hero!!!!

一.bug:
1.针对玩友们提出的未翻译的bug,全部进行了汉化;
2.江陵,成都,襄阳场景设置有问题的地方,进行了完善.
3.修正了攻打城市,变成中立属性.(后记,看起来是失败了,0.16中又重新调整了).

0.16更新日志
10月3日:
一.bug:
1.修正了攻城时直接出现占领的选项.简要说下,是我在game_menus.py第1400多行的占领程序代码的条件中,无意中加上了(ge,":num_sack",0)的指令造成的,现去除了这个指令,但是考虑到玩家说的有时城池没有受伤兵,无法出现城池占领选项,城池直接变成了中立,因此,增添了一段与占领效果一样的程序,只是将条件变为:检查城池的所属势力,城池如果是中立势力,并且是城镇属性,那么出现占领;
2.针对刷攻城部队的bug,我把try_for_range换成了store_random_in_range,同时在有错的(spawn_round_in_party,"p_城市","$gongchengbudui"),将$gongchengbudui换成了pt_国家_gongcheng.
加入了砖头重新修订的部分道具.
3.钱币单位的翻译弄成了oneway介绍的五什么货币单位;
4.修订了城池无故变成玩家阵营的bug,一是修改四方客栈属性为玩家阵营,二是将game_menus.py里进入四方客栈菜单里的一个变量换成了四方客栈.
5.修正了掠夺者兵种不对的bug,主要是改的party_template.py.
6.纠正了叛国的对话卡死问题,由kane修正了,简短了对话程序.
7.修正了队伍满时,npc加入的bug,主要在dialogs.py中对相关对话,添加了判断队伍空间的命令.
二.调整:
1.加入了砖头老兄刚调整的一些盔甲,使之更好看了.
2.在triggers和constant里加入了sj写的2段代码,这2段代码作用在于自动将玩家阵营属性的都市转成玩家所在势力.(防止玩家阵营城池的出现)
3.玩家出生地点和武馆改到了三个国家交汇的中心.
三.功能:
添加了在三个君主处招聘特种部队的对话.

10月5日-10月6日:
一.bug修正
1.商人说话中的中文翻译"先生"的称呼改为"大人"
2.大地图上对oneway提出的北方覆盖一遍雪地.
3.对一些历史npc要加上相关装备:吕布赤兔马,庞德三尖刀,夏侯敦勾镰枪.
4.绑架任务,将绑匪属性改为中立.
5.纠正了步履的防御过高.
6.修正了城池插上旗帜变成自己国土后,又变回原国家,原因是驻军为0,解决方法是在插上旗帜的选项中,加入了“party_add_members”的操作,加入了属国最低级的三个兵种作为驻军,确保城池不会变化势力。
7.修正了自动招俘虏的bug,在dialogs上为变量“:stack_troop”指定了俘虏兵种。
6.修正了国家城池为0时还在出攻城部队的bug.(在trigger中加了对城池数量的判断)
7.修正了近卫军攻击错势力的bug.(我把蜀吴写反了造成的)
二.调整:
1.加入了砖头调整过的几套特殊装备,砖头还调整了建筑和头盔.
2.调整出生点,平静的小山村的位置到三国的中央交接处.
3.调整了买装备,培养部队,抓俘虏的功勋计算,底限为10-20,加上部队或物品总价值的百分之一,运气好接到高级物品完成任务的话,可以加个100多点功勋;同时降低了追击掠夺者的任务经验值,遏止冬眠一族.
4.调整了兵种升级树如下:

5.修正了大盾手不能带盾的bug,将武器itm_dayue的属性改为了单/双手。
6.用party_add_members命令,在triggers的部队刷新程序中添加了兵种,使千人曲,五百人众,百人囤,巡逻队及黄巾,少数民族的parties_template的上限超过了6个.
7.发型发色全换成了中国特色的.
三.增加
1.增加了有经验的海盗这兵种,调整了两条强盗升级路线:河贼-海盗-有经验的海盗,山贼-贼寇-绿林巨寇
2.为商人部队增加了行进目标.
3.为义勇军增加了原地等待的指令.

0.175更新日志
10月7日~10月10日:
一.调整:
1.砖头兄调整了物品代码,以平衡游戏
2.丰富了成都的场景,使之更加的豪华
3.强化了历史npc的能力.
4.调整了城池的驻军情况。
5.站岗士兵调整为6名。
6.调整了新的音乐.
二.bug
1.修正了许昌,成都城堡无出口,桂阳,汉中,梓潼商店无出口.
2.修复了潜入时敌方士兵不知道被刷到何处的bug。
3.继续修正了攻城占领后,城池会突然变回去的bug(原来是triggers.py中有一段代码,原本是防止玩家阵营出现的,但这段代码忽略了攻城后势力变更的问题,现已删除了)
三.功能
1.中立武将全部将随即出现在各城市的酒馆,不是想招谁就招谁了,要看运气.
2.增加了典韦,颜良,文丑,高顺等15位人物.
3.特种部队出现武将带队,连续打败他们十次以上,可以招这些英雄入队.
4.为义勇军增加了交换部队的选项,取消了用钱招兵的选项.
7.增添了一个男性脸,一个女性脸

0.176更新日志
10月11日-10月14日:
1.更新了2张中国人的脸型
2.更改了300声望就可以招特种部队武将的bug,原来是常量中把特种部队设置在npcnpc_begin与npcnpc_end之间.
3.修改了寿春,柴桑等四个城市店老板站位点错误(不小心设置为2号点,已改回9号点了.)
4.修正了几种武器的翻译,使之区别开了.
5.修改了步槊的显示,变成不背在背上.
6.增加了一个新的升级树:农妇3---侍女8---采女13---宫女18.
7.增加了3件平民男衣服和2件平民女衣服,更新了原有的2件女衣服.
8.更新了音乐.

*Background:


Around BC 180, the monarch of Han dynasty was living and ruling corruptly. At that time the weather was bad so harvest was poor. On BC 184, many farmers rise to resist against the heavy taxes burden. They joined together and named themselves as “Huang Jin Army” (which means people with yellow coifs on their head). They seized many provinces and became very powerful. Finally general Dong Zhuo and many other generals repressed this insurgence after a tough war. During the war many generals or governors own a large number of armies. On BC 189, the monarch of Han was dead. A series of power contentions for the next monarch happened. At last Dong Zhuo put the former monarch’s youngest son on the dragon seat. However Dong Zhuo took most of the young kings ruling powers, as he said the new kings was too young to deal with the affairs of dynasty. Dong Zhuo was killed by other court officials later because his ruled very tyrannically. Warfare happened between those generals and governors with many armies. Among them, Wei, Shu and Wu came to the three largest forces after a series war against their neighbor factions. The time of Tripartition started on 208.



*Features achieved:


1/ Ancient Chinese sight viewing: A beautiful and realistic ancient Chinese world is presented. The real geography, scenes and people life style of Chinese style of the time are made and shown on a whole new map. Based on many historical document and pictures of cultural relics, our art designs and models give you an amazing feeling in the game. (It may still have some Western style constructions in this first version. However the Exclusive Chinese Style will be completely achieved in the coming version. )

2/ Unique Path in siege mode: The NPCs' AI is greatly improved: they exactly know where to go and how to go. No longer can you see your soldiers were running into a wall or got stuck by ladders.

3/ The intrusions of Barbarians:. Besides three major factions Southern Man, Northern Xiong Nu and Eastern Yue will appeare as well. These tribes which would give you many troubles on your way to achieve your goal have special weapons and powerful warriors with proper wearing.

4/ Historical battles mode: At specified time in the game, the total number of four of significant battles will occur. A large number of special armies will appear in these historical battles. The result of these battles will have a big impact on the national power. Live or die, is all in the battles!

5/ Innovated realistic equipments: All weapons and equipments have their proper outlooks. The abandon of crouch lance damage will greatly challenge lance users in the game. However with their special attacking method pole arms still have their power while fighting against horse riders.

6/ A blue book: Fifty famous characters are introduced into the game. Some of them are brave generals and some of them are wise idea men. They will highly improve the strength of your team if you can meet the requirements to hire them.

7/ Hidden powerful equipments: Incisive weapons, hard armors, speedy horses, all these conspicuous weapons will be introduced into the game. In order to obtain these powerful stuffs you need fortune and perseverance.

8/ The advance of taking official positions: Focus on your strength and agility or intelligence and charisma? It’s all up to you! After the 6th level with any time of advance on your position you will have bonus points on certain abilities.

9/ Reputation system: In order to hire advanced soldiers or those famous NPC you need to consume your reputation points. You can gain reputation points by killing enemies, finish certain missions and by your official position bonus.

10/ Bodyguards function: Similar with the Caradial MOD, you can own a troop of bodyguards. These bodyguards would not really surround you while fighting, but they can always follow you on the map mode unless you have order to let them move else where. With this troop of bodyguards you can develop many kinds of useful tactics. Should you use it as a bait or let it siege for you? To be a tactician in ancient China!

11/ Some useful functions from Band of Warriors: Manage your teammates’ money, equipments upgrading, tactics of using their weapons and their fighting habit. There small functions will really help a lot in your warfare career.

12/ National power system: Six national power levels have different influences on the refreshing rates of national troops. Once a nation fell to the lowest level sieges to its cities may be happened. The more cities a nation owns, the faster it can recover from lower level of national power. A nation will be eliminated only when it has no city left. Protect your nation by defending your cities; gain your honor by attacking enemy’s!

What does this mean? That you created new attack types for the lance and polearms on foot, or just that you removed the couched lance attack? What is the new footsoldier polearm attack like?

I like the idea of forcing mounted characters to learn new skills (couching is too easy) and making the more equal to foot soldiers.

I forced myself in TLD to not use couching as a Rohan character, and I've got pretty good at using a spear thrust attack while moving. It's not as devastating as the charge/couch style but it's more challenging and rewarding.

I'm guessing official positions means attributes and stats. Do you mean that your stats (Cha, Int, Agi, Str) increase independently of your experience? So a level 6 character could be more powerful than a level 8 if he has survived longer in the game? That would be nice, for example rewarding non-combat characters like general with more Charisma, Tactics or other non-combat advnatages, since the M&B system gives you almost all of your XP for being a bad-ass killing machine.

Anyway, just some friendly comment about the translated names of the troops, I kinda feel that some of the translated names either contains some grammar error, or don't really/fully reflects the original meaning in chinese. Example:
中立(Neutrality)(only available in peaceful villege) -> better translation would be "中立(Neutral)(only available in neutral village)"
魏虎豹骑( Dragoon)(lv25) - the "虎豹" implies Fierce and Speedy, which is more like "Stormy" in english. So a better translation IMHO will be "Wei's Stormy Cavalry/Rider"
魏近卫甲士 (Armored_guarde) - more like "Armored/Royal Guardian"...the "Armored" prefix made the lower-tier soldiers sound like "un-armored", lol, so Royal Guardian will be preferred.
蜀兵(Wei_Solider) = Shu Soldier.
蜀无当飞军 (Shu_unstopped_Horseman) - "Unstoppable" is better than "Unstopped".

"蜀骑兵(Shu_Horseman)(lv10)——精锐蜀骑兵(Shu_Elite_Horseman)(lv15)——蜀武骑 (Shu_armed_Horseman)(lv22)" doesn't give a sense of proper promotion...it makes the Shu_Horseman and Shu_Elite_Horseman sounds like "un-armed". IMHO, the following might be better:
蜀骑兵(Shu Horseman)(lv10)——精锐蜀骑兵(Shu Elite Horseman)(lv15)——蜀武骑 (Shu Royal Horseman)(lv22)

"吴解烦步兵(Wu_trouble- dealing_Army) (lv10)——吴无难步兵(Wu_Hard_Army) (lv1:cool:——吴羽林军(Feather_Army)" sounds funny, hehe, obviously it is directly translated word by word from chinese. "解烦" is more like, relieve/solve a problem, not just dealing with it. IMHO a better one will be:
"吴解烦步兵(Wu Reliever Infantry OR JUST Wu Reliever) (lv10)——吴无难步兵(Wu Savior Infantry OR JUST Wu Savior) (lv1:cool:——吴羽林军(Wu Royal Infantry/Guardian)"

and it seems that even more of the names in Special Force section is directly translated word by word, kinda weird/funny to read.

In that mod, there's no polearm weapons. All weapons that look like polearm are made either 2hander or 1hander, thus you will not be able to do couched lance damage with them.

7. Chinese-style weapons, armors and horses. Regrettably, there's no Couched Lance technique back in the era, and thus all polearms will be made either 1handed or 2handed weapons, this is a sad news to those players who heavily rely on Couched Lance technique.
*I am sure they know how to turn off Couched Lance damage, as they demonstrated in other mods. I think the reason they didn't choose to simply turn off the Couched Lance damage, but instead making polearm weapons as 1hander/2hander (remember that they design their own items, not using the vanilla), is because that's more "chinese" [used as an adjective here], if you know what I mean...Chinese don't really use lance, but spears/halberd instead. There are some Chinese martial arts for polearms specifically, and they use polearms more like 1hander/2hander than "lance"/polearm in vanilla M&B. So I personally think this is a very proper/sensible change.*

There's only ONE polearm type weapon obtainable in that mod - one of the newbie equipment you get, but I believe it's a bug and will be fixed in future versions.

What does this mean? That you created new attack types for the lance and polearms on foot, or just that you removed the couched lance attack? What is the new footsoldier polearm attack like?

I like the idea of forcing mounted characters to learn new skills (couching is too easy) and making the more equal to foot soldiers.

I forced myself in TLD to not use couching as a Rohan character, and I've got pretty good at using a spear thrust attack while moving. It's not as devastating as the charge/couch style but it's more challenging and rewarding.
the ancient Chinese rider didn't use crouch lance bcoz that will un-balance them and easily made them de-horse.So, according to this historic facts,the crouch lance is canceled to all long weapons except one( in order to make some crouch-lance-fans comfortable, you can get a spear has the crouch fuction from the sheriff of the village when you get the mission "destroy water bandit". however, it is just 158 in length, too short for me and dangerous to get closer to the enemy. i prefer a 214 one if let me choose)

I'm guessing official positions means attributes and stats. Do you mean that your stats (Cha, Int, Agi, Str) increase independently of your experience? So a level 6 character could be more powerful than a level 8 if he has survived longer in the game? That would be nice, for example rewarding non-combat characters like general with more Charisma, Tactics or other non-combat advnatages, since the M&B system gives you almost all of your XP for being a bad-ass killing machine.
there may be a misunderstanding. the bonus points won't increase by time or battles. it will just appear when you upgrade to a new rank.as there is 11-rank, the bonus is definitely limited by a cetain number.(maybe 1~3 point when u get a new rank.)

Oh, and off-topic, this board should have a Chinese section as well to be honest, seeing how extremely popular M&B is in China - well, even if you look past all the cracking.

OK, thanks for explaining that. You said there is no couched lance, but are there any normal spears which you can thrust (stab) with?

ZantaRagna says there are not - but I can't imagine there not being any thrusting weapons in the entire game. Personally I think using a spear like a sword looks silly but I don't know much Chinese history.

OK, so there are ranks like in M&B Native: eg Soldier, Sergeant, Knight, Master-Knight, General etc.

Starting from when you get to the sixth rank (800 renown) you get two advantages:
1/ a group of bodyguards
2/ extra character/attribute points for each new rank you achieve.

So if you're a good general and complete lots of dangerous missions for your king you'll become more powerful - even if you have not killed lots of people personally?
 
:lol: Kinda reminds me of Dynasty Warriors. Is a translated version of this mod planned? Getting confused with what my soldiers are upgrading into.

I'm Chinese, but I was born and raised in the USA, so I can't read Chinese, but I can speak it fine.

The problem will be methinks, that there aren't any likely candidates for a language mod that can speak chinese, is mature and a forum veteran.

Looks good on paper. Definitely. But with my computer, I can only run it in its ugliest form, so I have to pass on this one.
