SP - General Idea - Enlist in a hero's army

I can't tell you how many times I've wished I could enlist my character into a hero's army as a recruit and work the way up the ranks. Mount and Blade: Warband had an amazing mod for this. Can you please implement this into the core game?

Initial recruitment:
Allow someone to sign up for an enlistment period of 6 months to 1 year.
At the end of their enlistment, they have an option to re-enlist or leave with the gear they earned while working their way up the ranks.
