On a number of occasions I have seen 30 point relation to liege drops with no indication of a reason. I may just be travelling across country and it says "Relation with Donnchad drops from 75 to 45. Is this a bug? If it isn't it is a real dumb feature to have a huge irritation with no visible way of dealing with it.
There are plenty of possible reasons to get that relation hit, check the log and make sure you didn't attack a priest next to them (if its a christian kingdom), a monastery...etc
1) post a link to download your savegame. In special if you can reproduce the event (a save one day earlier, as a example, that always has the drop 20 hours later)
2) post your rlg_log.txt
3) if you can't reproduce it on your save: take a screenshot of your notes->messages screen that shows the text of the drop
I made sure all the software was updated and started a new game and at the point where I got 3 lords I had this 30 point drop on all three lords within about 10 days. An unknown feature that causes bad things with no control by the player I call a bug. At this point my only recourse is to try and play without lords. I do not have the save games to do what you ask above.
Hi qmax,
We will take a look what possible circunstances might make you lose 30 points at once. There are, indeed, some random events that might make you lose relation and the relations tends to converge in 0, the better relation relation you have with a lord, the biggest amount each week you will lose until you reach 0 (and the opposite, from -100 to 0).
Another question, were they your rival? did they just defect from 1 faction to another?
I do not have a clue to the issue or any connections to factions. It is always 30 points, it is never connected with an event, and it also happens with companions who I made lords. If the player has no way of understanding it, then it is a bug.
About the only way to deal with such a huge drop is to give a lord 10 fiefs to get him to 100, then let him decay to 0, fire him, and repeat the process with another lord. Sadly, this necessary approach voids all the other nuances built into the game.
It's to do with rebellions. When a rebellion event happens, you may lose relations with lords that they are in good relations with. Guessing they are trying to disrupt relations between you and your vassals. Took me me a while to figure it out. I think it also works with other factions vassals too. You can lower it with a tweak.
It could also be due to rivalries between lords. Sometimes when I've tried to resolve disputes betwen lords one lord says I favoured their rival(which I didn't) so I lost relations with them.
I will check out that rivalry idea but I just had it happen again with the latest download and this time there was no message in the log highlighting it at all. I will say again. Things that happen like this in the game that you cannot understand and are not evident are not features, they are bugs.
The -30 is the relationship drop due to rebellions. I don't know if this affects the AI kingdoms and kings, but if your not bothered about factions returning then it would be ok to use this tweak.
If you don't want to use tweaks then the other way to stop the relationship drop is to not recruit the lords straight away and let them lose relations with their original king. Take the feifs of the lords that you want to keep and leave them with one that belongs to a lord you are not bothered about.
I changed the "-30" to "-5", so now I only experience -5 random drops, which is fine and makes sense. The -30 hit is indeed way too much for no obvious reason. You can change it to anything including 0 if you want. It won't affect anything other than the relation drop. I haven't tried with positive values, but I think even this can work, if you want random relation boosts instead of drops
Just had this happen to two lords twice in the same week. A drop of -60 for each and no message of any kind saying what is happening. C'mon Taleworlds.
You could try the above suggestion (knowing that voids future support as you would be playing non vanilla/mod), or wait for a official BWStudios reply.
You can help with the (suppose) issue investigation by providing updated logs and savegames.
