How can I make borders on textures?

I can make wood textures easily enough, but i cant seem to figure out how to make the cracks in between them, such as in this picture:

ah i see your problem I can help you if you like

It's like making brick work you have to draw the lines in yourself with the Brush tool then use an effect to make it look like it has depth

I'll edit my post once I  know what I'mtalking about myself

OK so as i said once you have the solid wood texture to add the lines you need to draw them in black using the brush tool, I would use a small size brush but that's your choose
then go to blending options, then Bevel; and Emboss have fun  this is also how you would make brick work

While this technique works, bevel and emboss looks like ass. You're much better off doing it by hand if you feel up to it.

I tyred it out quickly before i posted that last post and it does work and in no way look like ass, he could do it by hand if he wants but it will be alot harder to do

he just has to play around with the bevel options  and the other sub options
