Yep. The Blemmyes seem to be part of mythology all across northern Eurasia but I've never managed to find anything that explains why. There are also the people with one foot and the people with holes in their bellies but I dunno where those came from or what they're even called.
 
So there are cultural similarities throughout the northern hemisphere that aren't rooted in shamanism? That's way cool!

Obviously, though, the Blemmydudes are the original prototurks, which explains how they end up in all the mythologies.

It's probably just traveller's tales along the silk road. There are muslim and christian places of worship in deepest China that date back to late antiquity. There's even a theory I've heard somewhere that depictions of buddha are based off Byzantine Jesus, although I dunno how much tinfoil is required to believe that.
