fps drops to more than half randomly for a while

Heya, I play mostly online, and in TDM this issue happens lately.
Sometimes, can't tell why, the fps rate suddenyl drops heavily, yet it keeps a constant low number, and it returns after a bit. It happens from time to time in the Nord town TDM map, when there's a lot of players around but not necessarily so. Everytime I see it I have to run away from the action as it's unplayable. This never happened before the latest updates, and I could play a near constant 60fps with almost max settings. Latest drivers on a 2070.

I have a decent specs and in single player I'm suffering unacceptable FPS drops during sieges and big battles even with very low settings. There is obviously an optimization issue with this game causing bad performance even if you are far above the MIN specs of the game. And for some reason I can't understand they can't solve this problem 2 months after the EA release.

It's as if the game goes into half V-Sync for around 10 seconds every now and then.
