The Firewyne Mercenary Company has a long history of activity in Mount and Blade Warband, having played extensively in Native Battle events as well as a host of other Mods, including Persistent World, where we are one of the oldest surviving clans that are still active. Now, with the release of Viking Conquest, we plan to take our success into Viking-Era Britain, and make a reputation for ourselves that even the wild Danes and Norsemen might fear!
Ever since our founding, we have strived to be a respectable group of professional soldiers, who take victory through martial might, combat discipline, and smart tactics. As such, we pride ourselves in our straightforward and professional attitude to battle, and a friendly community that can work together to pull victory from the jaws of defeat.
We enjoy our reputation, and as such, we demand a certain level of discipline from our members. To be a member of the Firewyne Mercenary Company, one must be willing to attend weekly training sessions to improve their combat prowess, and, with time and practice, gain skill in combat and eventually earn your right to promotion.
Organisation.
The Company is divided into three squads, each of which is led by a veteran officer, or ‘Justicar’, who will guide you on your path to becoming a fearless and battle hardened Mercenary. These three squads form the core of the Mercenary Company, and report to the leader, or ‘Commandant’ of the Company.
Each squad specialises in a different aspect of warfare, be it the Stalwart Defenders of the Bridgeburner Squad, the Fearless Raiders of the Blackhawks Squad, or the Unstoppable Fury of the Flameweavers Squad. Unlike other Clans, this offers our members not only the chance to be proud of their accomplishments, but also to feel involved in their squad’s living history; notable battles are written down and dramatised into epic stories that coincide with the rich Clan Lore that we share with our members.
We also have an Battle Honour system that rewards skill in combat, and the earning of these awards will gain you prestige and increase your chances of promotion - plus bragging rights to the rest of your comrades!
Here at the Firewyne Mercenary Company, we offer our recruits entrance into a friendly community of various nationalities, who value winning as much as taking part. As previously mentioned, we also offer the chance of promotion and recognition through our battle honour award system, as well as an extensive forum that covers anything from off topic threads to important information, and even a living lore section that is constantly growing around the actions of the community.
Did you stand alone, battered and bloody, the last line of defence against a horde of viking warriors… and prevail? Chances are that if it was noticed, it will be made into a story or a song by our lore-masters, and posted on our forums.
In short, we offer our members a sense of belonging like no other.
We also offer the use of our Teamspeak Server, which we use to communicate in training and in battles. Our server belongs to the community - looking for somewhere to hook up with a few friends and play a different game? Look no further! Our community has a wide range of preferences when it comes to games, and you’ll more than likely find someone who is interested in playing with you.
In return, all we ask of our members is that they respect the company rules and don’t do anything that would bring shame upon us - treat others as you would want to be treated, and you’ll be fine.
We believe the best military units are organised and disciplined. We have a Teamspeak that we encourage people to use if they want to advance in the company, which we will divulge to you upon being accepted into the company.
We encourage our members to engage in friendly chatter and to socialise with your fellow mercenaries, providing that it is not deafening or distracting. In extreme circumstances, a Commanding Officer will issue "Vox Discipline" - A state of silence that allows us to concentrate or convey important information. During this time, we expect members to remain quiet unless instructed to speak.
