I get really mad when I lose a tier 4+ troop in an otherwise flawless battle.
I need real surgery and trainer skills and a means to max them out fast and early.
Each man is so precious and difficult to replace that it's not even worth the gain of the battle if you lose just 1.
I typically make like 40 good guys and then add on from rescues and prisoners so some of those first guys will last me the entire game, although many games end in the middle do to new betas. I had about 3/4 of my original crew when I finished my execution play through.
