SP - General Dismissing Troops -> Send them to a garrison

Users who are viewing this thread

Hello,

I feel like just dismissing troops is a lame mechanic. It doesn't spark joy. You have to do it cause otherwise they desert anyways, or you get the chance to donate them to a garrison. Well, they ain't idiots right, they can walk the worldmap themselves.

So how about, when dismissing troops, you can choose:
a) One of your castles that they should go to (and maybe be killed on the way)
b) Find the nearest lord and be donated to raise relation (gamble)
c) Go hunt some looters in your name to raise your renown and maybe get some gold/gear
d) If no fiefs are available, just disappear as it is now

Cheers

There's reasons to dismiss troops (you simply don't want to pay for them being the obvious one), but I 100% agree that being able to order a group of soldiers to go to a garrison you own or are allied instead of having to visit in person with is a good idea.

Absolutely agree, if I paid their wages they do what I say. Granted, should be subjected to the same morale, food & pay restrictions ad the typical party, and they need to have a place to go.

This would well intertwine with patrols - sending them to roam an area while you keep paying their wages. I do think Immersive Garrison does it quite well.
