Do keep in mind that historically, some vikings lived in places like Greenland and Iceland. I believe that is where the viking culture is inspired from. They already added in weather change and season change from before remember? It is in one of their first trailers. I have a theory that the reason why the Nords invaded later on is because of the amount of Nordic influence they had in Sturgia. As I said from before, there is only one way to find out. We must play the game ourselves when it is released.
Just wondering about the Greenland/Iceland part here. You're not claiming vikings originated there, are you? Yes, they settled on Iceland, Greenland, and we're still finding Viking settlements in parts of modern day Canada and NE U.S., but the viking culture came from Scandinavia.
No I am not claiming they originated there, I was theorizing that maybe the banner color got inspired from the harsh weather of the settlers' homeland, being like the Greenland and Iceland we know and their new homeland(which is inspired from our world's Russia) which still has a cold environment. The blog did mention that the color of their banner symbolizes the harsh weather they have to endure which could point towards both their homeland and new homeland, symbolizing their adaptation to cold weather. Since the blog mentioned they sailed from their homeland, this proves Sturgia has some viking like cultural influence in their lands. Yes I know the vikings settled in parts of Canada and parts of the USA. And of course I know they originated from Scandinavia, thanks for reminding me. At the end, it is just my theory and I firmly believe that although the Sturgians have mostly early Vaegir(Which is Kievan Rus) culture, they also have some influence of Nordic culture which could have led towards the Nord Invasion 200 years later. Just think in reality, Norway and Denmark as well as Greenland, Iceland and Scandinavia are all to the north, Norway and Denmark are closest to Russia, maybe its similar in Calradia where there are nordic lands beyond where some of the settlers came from and then there are probably the natives of Sturgia. I hope this answers your question. Now I would like to ask, do you think this could have been one of the reasons why the Nords invaded? Because of how much influence they had within the Kingdom of Sturgia? And probably did not trust them, at the same time wanting more lands?
