In Progress CRITICAL ISSUE - The game doesn't start.

Users who are viewing this thread

@dubb Well, we gotta make sure this thread won't be buried under threads about ingame issues like balancing trade income etc.

Devs, please let us launch the game first, then fix ingame stuff.

Hi, if you have tried updating all the dependencies as stated by the OP, please check your security softwares as well to see if the necessary authorizations have been given for the game. Please make sure that the new patch is up to date as well. Other than these, the developers are already notified about the crash reports and we are working closely with them and reporting them all the crash types (at launch, midgame, on certain quests, all of them) and we try to update you as fast as we can. We are aware that it is frustrating for you guys and we really want to solve the issues and enable you to enjoy the game as fast as possible. We ask a little bit more of your patience.

I have everything that's just possible to do on this world. It seems like it's an issue with the game itself to be honest. My frame work is 4.8, i have .net core, all my redistributables are updated, own windows 10 64 bit with good specs which must be able to run this game, antivirus doesnt interfere, literally nothing

Thank you! As DominionZA said, most of us spent the entire day trying different "fixes", reinstalling the game over and over again, verifying files, deleting files, reinstalling/updating different windows software. Basically everything that anyone here or on steam forum suggested. I'm glad to hear devs are aware of the issue as the crash report tool didn't work for me. Hope they get it fixed soon so we can all enjoy the main menu.

Guys there is some "progress"!

After the last update, I downloaded and reinstalled the game again, and now I can start the game launcher from Steam.

I still cannot get to the main menu, but I managed to get past 1st loading screen. then I could watch the TaleWorlds animated logo and now the game crashes on the 2nd loading screen: PICTURE 8

Edit. I could also finally upload the crash log via the ingame tool.

good to know im not the only person facing this issue, I hope the devs fix this asap, there doesn't seem to be a fix for this on our end. it also doesn't help that I cant contact support either. 200,000 people are playing the game while I have 3 HOURS of a white screen on my game time

the numbers of players mog me. i died inside and slid off my chair lol, going to wait for a hotfix now

Hey guys. I had this exact same problem and traced it vi Windows Event Viewer to KernelBase.dll. it makes no sense to me whatsoever but creating a new Windows aadmin account and playing from that Windows account fixed it for me.
It's extremely weird as it is still going to be using that same .dll file

Anyway I hope that works for some of you.
I couldn't load the launcher at all either and when I log into my normal Windows account I stil can't load the launcher. It definitely isn't the desirable way to run bannerlord but it's better than not playing it at all.

Thanks, making a new admin Windows account worked for me

I also had something wtih Kernelbase.dll in the event viewer.

Funny thing is, not even event viewer outputted something after the crash in Bannerlord.Native.exe, where it works for a few seconds.

Just bannerlord.exe won't even open and it stays in desktop sending messages to event viewer.

Going to try your method out.

Switching accounts did not work for me either. This is a game side bug it seems and needs to be addressed instead of us having to try 10000000000 different things that don't work.

This works for me. My save file is called Barr, and I had a 4KB file called bar.tmp.sav in this folder. Once removed, the game resumes as normal.

This is just a new error message from event viewer after I disabled compatibility mode in the executable.

It seems to say about an "System.InvalidOperationException"

I'm also experiencing this crash to desktop. I am able to open the launcher and "load" the game for 15-30 seconds, but crash before getting to the main menu.

The difference for me is that I was actually able to play the game for a few hours yesterday, which leads me to believe that whatever updates or hotfixes came out in the last 12 hours or so are the root of MY issue.

*Edit - I was able to run the game by opening the launcher directly with Administrator Privileges.
