Concerning Marinians

So i downloaded this mod and i started with the marinians. I could instant conquer a castle, but then i couldnt stand the troops of the marinians. The infantry was crushed by bowmans or crossbowman and the "sharpshooters" didnt hit any target (why??). So i changed my army and now i have about 50 serpent host cataphracts and 16 basilisk nights and about 70 marinian nobles. And here my question: Can i defeat the legion just with mercernary troops, because my weapon specialists(faith troops) are also not the best shooters!

You should keep in mind though that the Marinans are much better at defense than in attack. During siege defense their infantry can really screw up incoming enemies at ladders and siege towers due to their polearms, and Marinan crossbowmen, while fire slowly (which is the reason behind their low kill count) have fine enough armor and board shields so they can manage in melee to a degree. Hiring mercenaries is not a bad idea to assist them, though.

In any case, you can defeat the Legion with just about anything, provided you have sufficient numbers (and stable economy to upkeep your armies).

But in my current game my crossbowmen cant hit a target althought it is standing a few meters in front of them!

It seems you are just unlucky, while crossbow are slow shooters, they tend to be quite deadly. I'm a Marina man myself, I love their army layout. Your faith Troops should be better shooters, and I don't understand what you mean that your sharpshooters can't seem to hit anything, my own seem to work perfectly

Last time I played this mod, crossbows were ****ed up. They were way too weak and they did not shoot very far. I bet someone has played around in the modding files and didn't know what he was doing. If you can access the SoD source files, you can fix it by resetting the crossbow speed, damage etc. to Native M&B values. That should work.
