"These men charged from the shelter of a garden and died with their faces to the enemy, fighting to the death. So fierce was their charge, and so brave their actions, no Afghan dared to approach to cut them down. So, standing in the open, back to back, firing steadily, every shot counting, surrounded by thousands, these British soldiers died. It was not until the last man was shot down that the Afghans dared to advance on them. The behaviour of those last eleven was the wonder of all who saw it"
66th Marine Regiment of Foot
The 66th Marine Regiment of Foot was formed during February 2011 & have been active ever since.
We are an active Mount and Musket/Napoleonic Wars regiment that has over two years of experience with veteran commanders & members who have played warband, mount & musket & napoleonic wars since they were released, however we still accept any and all members who wish to join us no matter the experience.
We have one training a week & linebattles/sieges are scheduled weekly via our forum sign up system, we also have some random napoleonic wars fun days where we all go onto public servers together to just have some fun. When we are not during training or battles we are usually in casual mode so we hang out in teamspeak as a regiment and play other games to build friendships.
The main reason we are called the 66th “Marine” Regiment of Foot instead of the 66th Regiment of Foot which would be more historically accurate is because the Mount & Musket developers once promised a long.. long time ago to bring a large naval battles patch to mm... this never happened of course but after they announced this many “Marine” regiments begun springing up in a short amount of time & the 66th were among the first of those, now after a while when people begun to realise the developers were not going to release this patch, the less dedicated “marine” regiments disbanded & dissapeared off into the regimental abyss, however we the 66th have chosen our name & will not change it for anything, with the release of napoleonic wars there is now some naval combat & thus there is no need to change our regiment name, we are & always will be a dedicated Line Infantry regiment with an Artillery Sub-Division for those interested & will perform those duties to the best of our abilities, we will not be outdone by anyone.
The 66th’s main goal with Mount & Musket/Napoleonic Wars is to enjoy the game and have fun with it whenever possible, however during training & battles we are serious about what we do & aim to improve all of our members skills no matter the current experience, if promotions drive you then i simply ask you to be active as much as you can, if you are a casual player all i ask from you is to turn up and have fun.
We are an international regiment, meaning we will recruit anyone who believes they would be a good part of the 66th & are capable enough to follow our rules & attend our schedule.

History of the 66th
The 66th Regiment of Foot was an infantry regiment of the British Army, formed in 1758 and amalgamated into The Princess Charlotte of Wales's in 1881.
It took part in the Battle of Maiwand in 1880. The bravery of the English soldiers astounded the Afghans. The British had almost lost the battle and only 11 men were left. An Afghan officer described their end. The behaviour of those last eleven was the wonder of all who saw it"
Officiers who died in the last stand in the garden included: Captain Walter Roberts, Lieutenant Maurice Edward Rayner, Lieutenant Richard Trevor Chute, Second Lieutenant Walter Rice Olivey and Second Lieutenant Arthur Honywood.
William McGonagall wrote of the battle in his poem The Last Berkshire Eleven: The Heroes of Maiwand, which includes mention of Bobbie, the Regimental pet dog, who survived the battle:
And they broke from the enclosure, and followed by the little dog,
And with excitement it was barking savagely, and leaping like a frog;
And from the field the last eleven refused to retire,
And with fixed bayonets they charged on the enemy in that sea of fire.

We have rules like any other regiment & expect you to follow them.
•Be active on teamspeak & attend trainings/linebattles when possible.
•Behave in a tactful & proper manner during training, linebattles & public servers.
•The Regiment comes FIRST above all other games/clans/groups, real life issues take priorty of course but when it comes to p.c related activities if there is a training/linebattle, you must close/stop whatever p.c game/activity you are doing & join asap.
•Respect other members of the 66th & members of other regiments. (You cant be expected to like everyone in the regiment but that does not mean you have to show it.)
•Do not “Expect” to be promoted, you will be promoted when an officer deems you worthy of the rank in question. (You may request a rank though & you shall be tested to see if you qualify for it.)
•Be PATIENT... if you cant stand still in a line for 3 minutes without having to move, look around or telling me what you ate for breakfast then maybe you should not be joining a regiment.
•No dishonoring the Regiment in any way, shape or form. (ie. if you think it’s a stupid idea don’t do it, if you don’t think it’s a stupid idea then Definitely Don’t Do It! For you lacks the ability to think for you are a Marine and your duty is to serve and listen)
•No Typing while moving, kicking teamates, teamkilling or revenge stabbing. (Meaning if you get poked by a teamates bayonet and he does not stop just let him kill you & the officer will punish the guy who killed you, if you revenge stab someone & kill them, you will be the one who gets punished.
•Know the difference between “Fun” & “Trolling”.

We do attend the large weekly events such as the Monday, Tuesday, Saturday & Sunday Battle Events but we only attend one or two big events a week because people got bored of having an event every single day, all of our events require a forum sign up to attend which will be explained when you join the regiment.
Trainings are at a set time/date which you will be expected to sign up for & attend if you are not busy with real life issues, if you can not attend due to said issue, please let an Officer or a high ranking SNCO know in advance before it begins.
Training:
Friday ~ 20:30 GMT
Linebattles:
Any day/time, but usually between ~ 18:00 - 21:00 GMT
Weekly Events:
All events require a forum sign up, but that will all be explained when/if you join the regiment.

We have many talented video creators in the regiment, some just learning & some who are veterans at video creation. You should expect to be in a video during your stay with the 66th.
