Beyond that, with no farmland where the legions could forage, they could conquer no more. They fortified their most recent acquisitions, the great trading cities on the steppe's edge, confident that the disorganized horse tribes beyond the frontier posed no major threat. Khuzaits, Nachaghan, Arkits, Khergits, Karakhergits - imperial officials barely even bothered to learn the names of the various clans and peoples, except when it was necessary to turn one chief against another with a bribe, or remove a rising khan with a vial of poison.

[/parsehtml]Read more at: http://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord/Blog/33

This could turn out to be my favourite faction, I enjoyed playing with a Khergit only army in Warband.

I hope horse archers will be able to skirmish properly this time, that was a real buzzkill in warband.

The thing is, that i love the game, but stuid updtes like this irritate me. Did they give us a nice new video showing somethig that we havent seen or read in the demo or the posts they made? No video, no deep relationship system, even about diplocy post.. was brief and not intresting. Most of things they post, are already the one we know.

Weapons? Pff, we saw that in the demo.

Relatiship with vassals and all? Pff, already knew the half and it was mentioned at the beginning when they released the demo.

Multiplayer? Pff, almost all of games have the mode capture the flag. Something new?

The demo showed more than the dragging posts! Is the features the demo showed are the only? There are nothing more?

I feel like they do exsactly what apple does right now. They take the already build thing and drag it aaaall the way. Same but different. But still same.

Why not show us a tournament match.. or another siege or just a walk thru streets or how the castles fall or build with time. There are so simple things that coyld be more entertaining than weapons which do damage... wow.

I really hope that the game will be out before we have witcher 4 and 5 and Ciri's kids roaming Temeria and burning stuff. I mean, guys... Kingdom Come will be out before we have a great post. I mean, xbox x is gonna be out soon, maybe new ps consol. They will have to spend another year to update to the new console.

None of those horses look neither like a Mongol horse or an Akhal Teke(except the Avar one) . They all look like typical horses we all know(arab-british ones).
I dont think those artworks were done by someone with knowledge about horses.

That being said Khuzaits are not only inspired by Mongols they carry elements from every central asian nomad tribe I actaully posted this

While watching the captain mode videos I realised that some of the Khuzait troops(lancer class of the cavalry branch to be exact) wear Cuman armors.
WHO were the Cumans ?

Edit: I think I should have wrote helmet instead of armor.

These armors were never worn by Mongolians they were only worn by Altyn Orda(Golden Horde) Kypchaks and their nomad neighbours like Cumans and Pechenegs so we can easily say that Khuzaits carry elements from all important steppe tribes. Also I doubt Mongols of middle east and eurasia(Hulagu and Golden Horde) continued to bring horses from Mongolia.

I agree with Yaga, it would be great to see some stocky steppe horses as well as the "Arabian" type. Nice blog, though. I'm thinking of role playing a Khuzait/one of the steppe clans on my first game.

People I just found out that my profile pic is in fact an Akhal-Teke lol.
I just realised that Taleworlds said '' Attila the Hun was defeated by Aetius at the Catalaunian Fields.''
I dont think this is true.

wiki says
Tactical outcome disputed
Strategic importance disputed

1-According to me Huns' aim was to destroy last army stock of Romans and their invasion in 452 countering no opposition proves that they managed it.
2-Attila stopped in 452 because his army was out of water supplies and a disease occured witin the army.
3-Romans agreed on paying tribute to Huns.

Even if Huns were the ones WHO were defeated it woudlnt be an example for what TW said.Because in Battle of Chalons Attila's army was mostly germanic infantry.

KhergitLancer80, I showed the drawings-reconstruction. Reconstructions are made on the basis of historical documents, artifacts.

The Mogul horse has not changed much over the millennia:

Yes, Akhalteke is an ancient, purebred breed of horses.

You are right that Khuzaits need their unique horses in Warband they used the casual horses of Calradia and for a horse based faction I think it is wrong.

But I am not sure if they must use Akhal Teke or Mongolian horses(maybe both).
Because since Calradia is based on Europe and the game is inspired on 11th century World, I think the steppe faction resembles Eurasian khanates most likely and Akhal Teke might be a smarter choice(probably Talewords will miss our discussion anyways lol  )

Btw I was aware that my profile pic was an Akhal Teke but since it has been too much since I forgot about it I just remembered it over this discussion.

Khuzaits need a scrub-short but strong, hardy(so that Khuzait parties will have extra campaign speed just like real history steppe armies) pony like horses.

EDIT:Btw at first I thought if the horses in Screenshot can be Akhal Teke but their mane was too dense for a Akhal Teke plus Battanian cavs' horses are same with them.I hope they read this and add unique horses for the Khuzaits.

Many thanks to everyone for the wonderful feedback.

Supporting horses with markedly different proportions is kind of difficult. The animations would be skewed if for example we make the legs shorter. Also, all the horse equipment, saddles, bardings, etc, are modeled according to default horse proportions. We would have to find a way to adjust all these to different types of horses (or make different sets of equipment for each type). All these problems, of course, can be solved in one way or another but it would take time and effort and I am not sure if this will have a high enough priority to divert resources.

We have some plans to bring in some cheap and simple adjustments though. For example we can make horse heads bigger or smaller, without breaking anything else. Also we already have horses of different sizes. Hopefully, such tricks, together with some artistic touches will be adequate to create unique looks for different horse breeds.

Armagan, good evening.
As for horses, you can always find a compromise.
You can make a little thicker legs, more head of the corresponding shape and increase the tail and mane - you get a Mongolian horse.

I wrote to you in a private message, though it was a long time ago. Read it.

I like how even though the history and lore was never the big seller for the M&B series, it's still consistent. I remember how the companion Bahelstur told me that the Khergit were driven to the lands they now settled (around where the Calradian Empire sat) by something much greater to the east. Lovely! Thought you abandoned the game history.

I don't think we should carry our suggestions through PMs. Devs don't really like that, as far as I can tell. We'd rather have a nice discussion here or in any other corner of the forum where everyone can see it.

Also, one doesn't simply make Armagan reply on the forums. I guess that's one way of drawing attention, with 3 pages worth of discussion about horse breeds.

The Bowman, are you telling me this?
How do you know what I'm writing in a personal message? I can write in any personal message on any topic

And on the forum, I write about the shortcomings and how to fix them. Even appeared my fan group

Finnally someone's said it. Calradian Empire will wipe out weak tribes as they have always done.

HAHAHAHHAHAAA!!!!
OH YEAH ?
BE CAREFUL THOUGH WE STEPPE NOMADS ARE NOT LIKE THOSE BATTANIAN-STRUGIAN WEAKLINGS !!!
Ok I turn the caps lock on now.

Attila the Hun rekted both the E.R.E and the W.R.E. not just him but his ancestors also rekted ERE couple of times. Romans never had the chance to learn how to deal with steppe armies. They were obliged to pay huge amounts of tribute.

1071 Manzikert
All those -heroic- Byzantine cataphracts were dehorsed by Seljuk nomads and after this date Byzantine started to fall for some painful 400 years.

So watch for the children of eternal steppes !

I think it should. This is Mount and Blade after all. The awesome mounted combat is what brought many of us to the series. Proper horse variety would be a big plus for me personally.
