Grrrr, new influence in the top left corner? It won't last. Colonies and corps are natural enemies. Like corps and warlords. Or corps and the domain. Or corps and other corps. Godamn corps, they ruined Pel's Aurora.
You corps sure are a contentious people.

So, the global is all written up and ready to post. I'm tempted to post it now, since it's written up anyways. But it'll still be about 4 days or so before cards go out. So what do you guys think? Post it and get it out of the way, or should I wait?

EDIT: Also, yes, today is my birthday. Buy me games on steam for 10 Andors. (Only half-serious)

Abundance Week!
Earthborne cultures all throughout Pel's Aurora gather in the usual festivities surrounding Abundance Week - the first seven days of the Month of Second Abundance.
The first day is LABOR. Relatively unimportant, no colony afforded Labor Day with any higher regard than any other day off.
The second day is VALOR - an admiration for bravey of all sorts, whether of the soldier or the explorer. Out of any colony, Rho Aquilae demonstrated its love for Valor the most. Vast Wargames held in Gianni's name were carried out, and spectators came to watch the events. Entire fandoms have arisen in relation to specific regiments and divisions of Rho Aquilae's armed forces. Some are very dedicated - dying their clothes and painting their faces. Division of the army have created marketing divisions to handle sales of merchandise to their fans.
The third day is TALENT. In art, Iota Zulu became recognized for its emulation of Desan murals, while New Nassau continues to awe visitors with its fine glasswork. In music, Dracona and New Nassau lead the way, with the most popular band of the former getting attention of Lukkastor's publishers. In sports, Chawan's dune-surfing and canoe-racing are the region's most unique, while Rho Aquilae founds a Pel's Aurora Fighting Championship, with so far no other members - though the Meyove are a good candidate for one.
The fourth day is ABUNDANCE - fast all day, giant meal in the evening. Of all colonies however it was Dracona that had the most lavish feasts of Pel's Aurora, rich in variety, lots of meat, lots of real homegrown food, not the nutrient paste or the synthetic rations that many colonists are so used to.
The fifth day is INNOVATION. Dracona once again makes a name for itself here, for on Dracona Innovation is the most important day of Abundance Week. A science fair held in Draconis, the capital, attracted region-wide attention for the inventiveness of its citizens. While some of the inventions are... questionable, it nonetheless shows Dracona's ingenuity.

The sixth day is UNITY. This day was seen with equal vigor across Pel's Aurora, however New Sol is notable for turning its domed cities into giant disco balls and parading the army through the streets.
The seventh day is SURVIVAL. For the people of Iota Zulu, this was the most important day of all. The usual ceremonies - marches through the streets, illuminated solely by candlelight, with the leader's voice reverberating through the radio in solemn recall of the past, meant more to Iota Zulu's people than anyone else.

The sole Starborne culture in Pel's Aurora (to be integrated in the region's economy anyway), the Khanten people of Meio, did not observe Abundance Week, at least officially.

The Regotha Convoy!
The Regothan press has taken to referring to a small formation of IVX warships, including the flagship the venerable IVX Lair, and its entourage of barely-functioning vessels, the Regotha Convoy.
In addition to the Lair, only a handful of these warships were anywhere near capable of posing a threat to the coalition force of ATOS, Lukkastor, the Order of the Soaring Eagle, and Rho Aquilae, who have come in the aftermath of last month's massive Battle of Regotha in a second attempt to expel Innovaganix influence.
However, Innovaganix has had control of the battlescape for a month now and in that time, has coordinated extensive repair and scrapping efforts from the derelict starships created by last month's engagement. While repairing more than 30 starships in less than a week without any advanced facilities would be unthinkable, Innovaganix's commander was not so ambitious. Instead, he focused on repairing the warp drives of the most valuable warships and scrapping the rest. He had all but four of the derelicts with functioning warp drives, ready to get full repairs in a Spiremos foundry 32 light years away, when the Allied fleet arrived to finish last month's job.

In no position to challenge the enemy directly, Innovaganix instead relied on confusing the enemy, with a globe formation, wherein the full-strength warships would engage the enemy and cover the restored wrecked starships while they engaged warp drives. Then, as all the wrecks escaped to Spiremos, IVX sacrified the remaining four warships awaiting repairs in order to distract the enemy long enough for the remainder to retreat. However, in the meantime an Allied flanking force had arrived and, without the confusion the primary force suffered from, was able to cause significant damage to the stationary IVX warships just before they departed.

Since then however, the autonomous government of Regotha has agreed to rejoin Lukkastor's sphere of influence after being a hotly contested territory for several months now.

The Battle of Atargatis!
CEO Eximius of ECTV had cordially invited his Trade Guild partners into the Maradona Stars to pilfer from its great wealth. The Atargatis star system is a miner's wet dream - three gas giants with ring systems, hundreds of moons, and two asteroid belts. To this end, HMMC built a permanent base of operations in Atargatis to take advantage of its natural resources.
However, a band of ragtag allies kicked in the door with heavy firepower and 11,000 ground troops. Acting fast, they laid siege to a ground-based laser defense station before it even had tachyon field projection capability, but were outnumbered by 20,000 HMMC soldiers. In space, constant waves of reinforcements combined with devastating firepower from the ground installation compelled the bloodied attackers to retreat into the EM shadow of a gas giant, where they managed to find and capture HMMC star galleons and an escort laden with mineral treasures. They made off with their quarry.

Law and Order: Star Wars
Following the events of Atargatis, a fierce court case sprang up on Epsilon Izari where HMMC expressed great anger with Eximius for inviting them into the Maradona Stars only to be attacked by a force so large, even if it was repelled. In the midst of the proceedings, however, representatives from Pitnick Mining Corporation presented a case that they were behind the attack, having issued Melina Luther (who they claim lead it) a letter of marque, and that she was operating with Pitnick's intelligence under the pretense of a high reward and with Pitnick's protection.

Inter-corporate (and inter-trade guild) tensions fumed in the court room as Pitnick proudly boasted of Melina's past successful attacks against HMMC assets in the Regotha star system months ago. HMMC warned Pitnick that there was already a combined Earth Partnership embargo against Pitnick's presence in Pel's Aurora, and that actions like this would lead to open corporate warfare. Pitnick simply didn't care, waving off HMMC's thinly-veiled threats, and pointed out that none of this would've happened if HMMC and Acteon did not shun Pitnick from joining Earth Partnership in the first place all those decades ago.

Fall of Innovaganix, Rise of Triterra!
Blue Quadrant is in chaos! Or at least, from a corporate point of view. Innovaganix influence collapses entirely in Blue Quadrant, as mass conveyors no longer connect these worlds to Spiremos. While Meio issues a declaration of independence, Psi Olympia and Iota Zulu are sucked up into the sphere of influence of Euerythro, former Regional HQ of Tritach. However, former RCEO, Maxim Harvey, has announced that he no longer intends to work for Tritach. Euerythro is now the capital of the so-called Empire of Triterra, marked on starcharts as purple.
Maxim's "Imperial" fleets presented harsh ultimatums: surrender or die, essentially - to the colonial deputies of Psi Olympia and Iota Zulu, expressing no hard feelings to Maxim's former subordinates for accepting IVX rule in the past. In both cases, the deputies chose peaceful submission over a long siege.

The Battle of Euerythro!
After the declaration of Empire by Maxim, and the subsequent absorbing of two colonies, Euerythro came under attack by warships of the Servan Dual Confederacy. That's right, five ship months from their wartorn homeland, the Servans appear to have followed Maxim Harvey to Pel's Aurora in a quest for vengeance against the former Tritach RCEO for his actions at Solovh and Serva's once-beautiful city of Rubiya, now the namesake of Serva's mightiest battlecruiser.
The Servans' attack was well-timed, catching Triterra while its fleets were abroad projecting power and protecting the critical trade route to Nueluzon, but even so it was clear that they would not be able to do much against the superior numbers and fortified position of Maxim's assets in Euerythro.
Still, significant damage was caused, reports say.

The Battle of the Dunes!
On Meio, the former CARAPACE garrison of IVX soldiers was trapped. Just over two thousand of them remained alive, hiding out in the countryside, protecting a so-called Pulser tower - a deadly weapon that, if Meio's population was infected, could wipe out the entire colony. While Meio's population has so far had no traces of the virus, the tribal council wasn't taking any chances and elected Grand Marshal Yasirthi Yshtyvos to lead Meio's finest troops, those of the 'Mushnom Zemvent' (meaning 'Glorious Forefathers') to destroy the IVX force. With a superiority in numbers, better acclimation to Meio's climate, a superior knowledge of the lay of the land, and use of armoured vehicles against which IVX has no effective counter, the Meyove expected an easy victory.
No such victory came that afternoon, as the Meyove found themselves assaulting a dug-in defensible position at the summit of a plateau. The IVX Commander, Miloslaw, ordered his troops to make use of grenades and overcharged coilgun magazines to disrupt and disable Meyove vehicles at close range as they attempted to ascend the rocky slopes. In doing this, several vehicles were exploded and tumbled downhill aflame, causing confusion in Meyove ranks, though they held firm. The initial IVX attack had been devastating, but lacking the resources to do it again, the IVX infantry fled through the rugged terrain to get back into their positions, and Meyove vehicles and troops gave them heavy punishment. In doing so however they encountered the real crux of Miloslaw's plan: a minefield of dead and dying Meyove IFVs, blocking passage for the rest.
Unfazed, Yasirthi ordered the army to proceed on foot, and by this point Meyove artillery was in position to provide support for the soldiers. Advancing across open ground had only been considered thanks to the IFVs, however with those now useless, smoke would have to do. Meyove infantry assaulted IVX defensive positions under the cover of smoke and with precise mortar fire, however no progress was being made and losses were mounting. In a last ditch effort, after screening his flank, Yasirthi himself lead a bayonet charge into the IVX trenches. Meyove melee tradition and righteous fervor faced off against raw discipline and powerful Neural Catalysts. Both sides skewered each other in the desert, but as the powerful winds of Meio blew the smoke away and the Meyove forces were exposed, Yasirthi was forced to withdraw.

Meyove forces fell back to their vehicles and began to descend downhill. They were in a vulnerable position - an IVX counterattack could cause immense amounts of damage to the withdrawing force. Instead, Miloslaw and a delegation of officers approached Yasirthi, bearing the Khanten symbol of peace, the kiwomsemzen (lit. 'the chalice symbol').
Miloslaw offered Yasirthi a deal. IVX would not counterattack, and Yasirthi would return to the capital, Awugheswt, to discuss sparing the IVX soldiers who, Miloslaw argued, no longer posed a threat to the Meyove, and furthermore, had demonstrated that they deserve respect in Khanten society - after all, Meyove respect strength.
Miloslaw knew that although he could win this battle in the dunes and possibly even destroy one small part of the Meyove's massive army, he and his men would eventually die anyway. Starved of supplies, stranded in the hostile Meio landscape, and vastly outnumbered, there was simply no other way but to hold firm and gain leverage for peace talks.

Yasirthi agreed to this deal, and returned to Awugheswt to present his case before the Council. After a fierce and emotional debate that divided the council, it was, at length, decided that the IVX troopers would be spared and allowed to live as a vassal community under the Meyove Confederation.

Battle of Telotele!
A mysterious small fleet lead by two pyramid-shaped battlecruisers appeared in Telotele near the end of the month and promptly engaged Lukkastor and ATOS forces stationed there with a barrage of missiles and drones. Although heavily outnumbered and outgunned, the mysterious attackers insisted that this fight was a matter of honor, that Lukkastor has gravely insulted them, and were able to cause some notable damage to the two corps' task forces stationed there using antimatter armament. However, at great cost. They limped away, withdrawing from Telotele back to New Nassau.

Nanovirus Attack!
Replicating nanobots have been deployed on the defense station moon of Spiremos. Their numbers multiply daily as they rapidly consume all raw materials in their path - and they regard the high-quality alloys and electronics used in modern technology like laser cannons and computers to be especially nourishing, and target them first. Innovaganix presence on the moon has been significantly cut down, with only the most vital components such as life support remaining, constantly under siege by the ravenous microscopic machines.

Infection Spreads!
Regotha's doctors report that the virus probably created by Innovaganix has spread among their population, apparently sneaking in by trade routes. While it does nothing without the Innovaganix 'pulser', there is some measure of alarm.

Raid in D5!
An Innovaganix heavy frigate attacked ATOS mass conveyors in D5, capturing one full of Dark Matter and returning home with it. It was then able to destroy ATOS' Boson Star harvesting platforms.

Raid in F3!
An Innovaganix heavy frigate attacked LKR mass conveyors in F3, capturing one full of Dark Matter and returning home with it.

Shootout on Atodes!
As the dark of night blanketed the serene streets of Atodes' capital city, 50 'elite' troopers of the mercenary unit known as the Browncoats, brainchild of Sean Ari Cauthon, gathered in front of a highly secure IVX compound. In that compound, they knew, were good friends of theirs - spies, captured by IVX and held for questioning these past few months.
Despite urging from some other officers, it was this Browncoat commander's style to be as unstealthy and unsubtle as possible. So, the Browncoats began an all-out assault on the IVX compound, beginning by killing the sentries and scaling the brick walls with grappling hooks. However, one sentry had successfully sounded the alarm, and spotlights illuminated the base as IVX troopers mounted patrols and manned machine gun nests.
The Browncoats took heavy losses, pinned down by a machine gun, but were able to negotiate that obstacle by clearing out one of the towers, tossing an IR smoke grenade out, and leaning against the base of the MG's tower. After they cleaned that out, they found their friends, being held hostage by an IVX officer with a pistol, surrounded by riflemen.
The officer reportedly killed every hostage, shocking the Browncoats so much they did not react immediately, and blended into the darkness while his troops opened fire on the enemy.

The Browncoats fled, their numbers greatly diminished, their unsubtle approach having been the wrong approach. The story was later published all over Atodes' news, with interviews with IVX troopers giving us this account.

Virus Cured!
Innovaganix has announced that it has cured the virus that various sources corroborate was their own creation. They invited Human Domain officials to examine the cure and attest that it actually works. The Domain has published a peer-reviewed scientific paper about the test results, confirming that it indeed does work in tandem with medications which slow down the heart. The cure has yet to see mass distribution.

The First Borehole Cluster!
ATOS announces the creation of the very first Borehole Cluster in the region. Although a small one by most standards, its placement on a volcanic world alongside numerous other high-tech assets has dectupled ATOS' monthly mining yield.

Workshop of Pel's Aurora!
Rho Aquilae has maintained the illustrious title as the Workshop! Of Pel's Aurora! as they like to put it. The colony remains the most industrialized world in Pel's Aurora by far. Conductors say that its facilities have a capacity just under three times higher than the runner up.

Tribal Elections!
Meio's declaration of independence coincidentally lined up well with its yearly elections. The Meyove Confederation, made up of thousands of tribal units, first elected each tribes' own leaders, who then voted among themselves the chief members of the inter-tribal Council, the government of Meio which is recognized by the outside world. Yayigri Yshtyvos had formerly been the 'Colonial Deputy' (or to the Meyove, the 'Yikhnit') but has lost that position, retaining only his position within the Yshtyvos tribe. Taking his place as Deputy is the young and fiery Semketiv Semevrol. She had demonstrated strength before the council in the aftermath of the Battle of the Dunes, wherein her brother had been slain. She silenced the outraged auditorium with her tears, then shocked them with her demands for vengeance. Although the Council decided to spare the IVX troopers and allow them to live as their own subordinate community, Semketiv herself has sworn to challenge Commander Miloslaw to a duel to the death, though she has not had time to do that this month due to other concerns... such as the ATOS Expo.

ATOS Arms Expo
Various powers throughout Pel's Aurora paid a visit to Neurhone, ATOS' RHQ, including Iota Zulu, Meio, Rho Aquilae, Selena Strong Arms, Hiza, and some warlords, Sean Ari Cauthon and Melina Luther. They were treated to three days of gourmet breakfast, karaoke parties, ATOS technology demonstrations (including a very advanced heavy coilgun with an innovative cooling system, the ATHENA armour, and the MIFLAV vehicle upgrade), spearfish-watching, and speech-giving.
The convention has been a resounding success, with no security issues or incooperative guests. Even Selena Strong Arms, ATOS' biggest competitor in the region, were well-behaved, if a bit over-eager during demonstrations.

The Giannist Hierarchy!
Rho Aquilae has abandoned the traditional plutocratic government that most Earthborne mega-conglomerate sponsored colonies must accept. Rather than a plutocracy, Rho Aquilae has adopted a Stratocracy. The government's elected officials are chosen from among the Wing Captains of warships or the Colonels of ground regiments. Few civilian positions remain, and are largely subordinate to the military's whims. Rho Aquilaens now call themselves the Giannist Hierarchy, honoring, as always, the name of Gianni Athanasios.

IVX Embargo!
ATOS' embargo of IVX last month would have hit IVX's revenue and war capabilities hard. RCEO Banner was able to minimize the economic damage that would have been caused however, by completely cutting dependence on ATOS for military products. IVX now generously subsidizes any and all war-related industries created by citizens on Spiremos, while forbidding his merchants to interact with those of ATOS. A true 'wartime economy' has emerged on Spiremos, with total dedication from the population to assist the war effort in any way possible.

Inimetay and Eru-Judian
A novelist from Iota Zulu has brought back to life a Desan soldier, Qepautan Inimetay, who fought and died in defense of her people and home against the Tarak when they laid siege to Iota Zulu (then called Eru-Judian, or 'Two Extremes') 60,000 years ago, when Pel's Aurora was a battlefield between the Sixteen Kingdoms and the Sanhakas Federation. Inimetay wrote about her daily life and these writings were found, chiseled in tablets, in a bunker at the bottom of an ancient Desan city.
Inimetay may not have been human, but some of her final words talk of something that human experience can relate to. She expresses a wish that the Tarak would not shoot her long enough for her to beg them to let her live; she herself had nothing to do with all the things the Desan did to wrong them. But alas, she remarks, this is her forefather's war and it is simply her generation's turn to die in it.

High-Value Trade Routes!
Due to the import tariffs put in place on Epsilon Izari and the high sales price of goods from New Nassau, trade routes going from New Nassau to Epsilon Izari are said to be the most cost-effective in the region.
