We normally use steam to alert everyone at once using the steam group page, but alternatively we could add you on skype perhaps.

Why do  so many people want to watch a game on youtube where every group quits after trying to do an event?
 
For your VC Event, do you allow pubbers to join in? I'm interested in showing up for a few VC events, but I'm not readily available to join another community of players when I am already involved in GK. I can join in and listen on teamspeak.

Just ask an already established group to merc for them temporarily until you are ready to join a clan. That would get you into the event.
