The Jami' al Tawarikh (compendium of chronicles), was in four parts: (1) the history of the Mongols from Jenghis Khan to the death of Ghazan (2) a history of Öljeytü, followed by a long universal history from Adam, the biblical patriarchs and the ancient kings of Persia to Muhammad and the caliphs; (3) the 'Five Dynasties' of the Arabs, the Jews, the Mongols, the Franks and the Chinese; and (4) a geographical compendium.
