New TweakMB tweak: Choose quest from menu

Normally I try not to do too many shameless plugs for TweakMB, but I wanted to mention a tweak that was added in the most recent version (3.05).  This new tweak will allow you to select your quest from a menu when requesting a task from a village elder, guildmaster, or lord.  If you're like me and you HATE it when you get the "Escort caravan" or the "Persuade lords to make peace" quests, this is the tweak for you .

Bear in mind that only quests that are actually eligible to be offered will be shown in the menu (you still have to follow the rules of the game!).  Also, this will currently only work with Native 1.134, although support for certain mods may be added at some point.

See the screenshots below for an idea of what this tweak does:

Does that also work for the lady quests?

Not right now, although it certainly could.  I didn't think lady quests came up all that often, but that may just be because I don't spend much time on that side of the game.  I'll see what I can do about getting it added .

Does battle continuation work?

Not as big of a deal to me as it used to be now that I found pre-battle orders but still would like it if I could play completely native + a few of my own tweaks done through your thingy

Yes, battle continuation works with 1.134.  It doesn't do anything fancy (ie, you can't move the camera around or anything), but it does work.

Good enough for me

That said I am looking forward to this quest thing... hate bouncing back and forth between towns trying to get one that gives me a quest I don't mind doing (I hate crap like herding cattle)

I would also recommend lowering the repeat intervals on the quests you like.  I've always thought the default intervals were a bit ridiculous :???:

And i did just that, great work, kefka95. But im wondering, right now im adventurer and i want to do quests for the kings to have bigger relations with them before going to start my own kingdom. I just noticed, that not all the quests shows up. I was going to King Harlaus, before that i waited for 15 days and some quests still doesn't show despite the fact i do lowered those intervals. Im getting quests like Hunt down fugitive or train troops or collect taxes, but that's it. What i want to know, do other quests show up only if im vassal of whatever realm ?

Certain quests like capture a lord or enemy troops might only be possible if you are a vassal, I am not sure.

As to ones like hunting down a fugitive or runaway serfs not showing up, wait a day or two and talk to him again. I ran into the same problems but going away for a day and coming back solved it.

All quests have certain conditions (beyond just the repeat interval) that must be met before the quest will be offered.  For example, some quests require you to be above or below a certain level, some quests require you to have a certain relation with the quest-giver or faction, some quests require certain events to have occurred (ie, in order to get the "Deal with Bandits at Village" quest, bandits must already be present at the village), etc.

If you would like, I can post the requirements for each individual quest so that you can get an idea of what causes each quest to be offered.

Hi, this seems very interesting, but it's not working for me. TweakMB says that the tweak worked properly, but in game nothing happened, and the modification date for conversation.txt is 11/07/2011 wich means (i suppose) that the file wasn't really changed. Any ideas?

Thanks, and great tweak too, I'd like to get it to work.

Yea me too as i click on the tweak that successful but in-game the option wont work as nothing come out..
I got the latest version of tweakMB and do i have to start a NEW game for it to work?

Does the same work for companions as well. I know there is a tweak there which prevents companions from leaving. But is there something which prevents companion becoming "miserable" at 0 morale? I read somewhere that if a companion's morale falls below a certain limit then their party skills stop working.
So i might use that tweak to have all the companions.
Then use Borcha as scout, Lezalit as trainer/taction, Jeremus as Medic, Marnid as trader etc but it will be of no use if their low morale is making their skills useless.
In that case it is the same as having not having those companions.
So is there a tweak like that?
