Why does my game crash when i try to run my saved file??

hi
i had to delete and reinstall Warband because of a bug.
i reinstalled it and put my old saved file in the saved game folder.
but when i try to run the saved game,
Warband closes and says, MandB: Warband has stopped working.
i need help with this.
if this has happened to you, or know how to fix it, please reply.

You probably mucked it up, I presume you've tried starting a new game then trying to load the other one?
