@Dankmar, those gobbo skins look great, very gnarly. How about some small visible tooth tips though? They've got a wee bit of a gummy-old-man look atm .

Yeah, I've always thought about whether standard bearers would be possible.
Well, having a...
...on the matter
Whether people exploit something is up to them. Cheaters will cheat regardless.

I was thinking it would be more of a specialist troop. You could link them to army size or renown. One SB per so many troops, or specific amount of renown. Create a sort of "battalion" feature. Not sure how you could police that or if it's even possible. Semantics for hypothetical ideas at the moment lol.

The banner itself wouldn't be a weapon but a decorative item on the model's back/shoulders, as they are on the real figurines. This has been done in Gekokujo with Samurai banners. Also, you can add extra effects to items, such as +1 to Tactics etc, as with the books. These provide a bonus in combat to, I don't know what would be applicable with WSC in it's current state or what plans you have for the future. But again, semantics. Troop morale would be the obvious one, if there was a mechanic for it. TLD and other mods have a combat morale mechanic, so it's entirely possible.

It might also be interesting to have morale play a factor in live combat. It was quite fun to see enemies run like pansies when I charged in, sword swinging. But that is something else altogether.

So, yeah. :fruity:

Since, as already sneak peaked by me, morale is what we have some ideas about for the future (but not the only thing we have plans for ), studying a functional way to implement stendard bearers could be something constructive.

A limitation, be it "1 for tot troops" or "1 for tot renown" is always a limitation, which is needed, and cheating is not exploiting, as we can stop or reduce the latter but not force-stop the first

I can't remember tabletop rules for equipement of the stendard bearers at the moment, so I cannot be 101% sure about it, but I remember them being dressed as light/medium (depending on the faction) armor and having only their banner and a dirk as weapons, as they were meant to be a full support troop for their army (also a reason why I've never seen many of them when playing: too expensive, too low the value against a purely "blitzkrieg" aggressive army).

Allready done
After the last update 5-6 months ago i revamped the orcs again. New helmets, armors and so on, just need to implement and package them again. Im gonna do that after the goblins, but i dont want to spend to mutch time on the green wave. Just wanted to get them finish, so i can take a look into the scaven.

Awwww yisss. I'm stoked! I dabbled a bit in 3D modelling and played around with skaven but then I sunk into learning more about coding and abandoned my "ragged plaque priest project". But I found some pretty nice concept art for assassins, clan rats and plaque monks, skaven runes and symbols though. Tell me if you want me to send them to you for inspiration.

Also dayum! Thread is boiling today!

Sure! Send them over

Well, i love the idea of a bannerman, it would be hella cool to stab the enemies with a pike with your banner  :fruity:

But also, i think i would be cooler to give the banners to chavalry just like this:

I don't know if it is very efficient or realist thing to do but hey, you must admit that it's pretty cool

By the way, i'm back after months without internet, did you guys missed me?... :grin:DD

No? oh well ;'c

That be interesting, Like is it only with some Armour or all? I drove the assumption that it needs to be rescaled since its different size... but if it can be fixed by only removing the restriction it be great.

Works for some, not for all. Humans, elves, vampires and skeletons are fair game, they can use each other's equipment without a single issue. Orcs and Chaos cannot use most of the stuff without the skeleton going bonkers. The other races are hit or miss, mostly with helmets, armor doesnt seem to cause too much trouble.

once I manage to not get trolled by OpenBRF and I manage to get armors in this overall skaven faction will get screwed up.

I've still got this thing on my basement and I can't manage to get it in like Dankmar does for some damn reason. jesus why do I suck at coding-related things so much.

A guy on ModDB reported that faction leaders can join other factions as vassals while their own faction is still alive.
Does anybody else get this too?

Roughly 2000 in-game days between my two characters and I don´t remember ever seeing that. However it could be that it passed unnoticed due to so many lords switching name along with faction.

I believe that happend to me too, but not fully sure if they just defected because the faction was taking a beating... but that was in a older game like before I installed the Rigale submod, It does not seem to happen all time like the Erasmus bug with the Gear. I noticed a bug when travelling around ( while setting up businesses ) and try to Romance the Local Faction Ladies first they into it and wish to be seen again, but as soon you speak again they found another Casanova and give the message they seeing this or that Lordy. Other then that I think all other bugs I also noticed where properly listed already.

By Gork and Mork that's great! Can't wait to see it fully textured and ready to fight

Does anybody know what happened to birger jarl? He did some amazing things to this mod!

Nope, as far as we know he's gone missing like 6 months ago from the thread.

(Confirmed on his profile, last access in September but last post was here on the thread in June.....damn, I feel like a stalker now....)

Insomnia strikes again!

Then I thought: I really like Chaos, but now where Nippon's in my inner Weeaboo is crying and begs me to play Nippon... So I thought it's time Chaos reaches the far east...

Also if you don't see enough details on that screenie, here's some Pics from openBRF

Edited: I think that'll suffice for now

Also, in case you're reading Nameless, I kept trying a couple more times, never got the Dwarven Merchant, but the game realised my Nippon character's special and not a test so it decided to show him the bloody Merchant instead...

Very nice dankmar! Did you just do that now or were you working on them longer?
(Also did you get my pm? I can't find my sent messages to see if it went out properly - is this missing or am I blind?)

I'm not a fan of Chaos-Nippon (too many japanese culture lessons made me love it and built a too strong respect in me to accept such heresy ) but that Shinobi and the detailed general armor (maybe without the chaos star) look like something that could have been there naturally. And, well, maybe giving Nippon some less "shining bright" colours could be an idea, because it looks awesome in darker colours

The Kirin feels more like a Nightmare with those colours.

Love owed and delivered for the steampunk bulky bearded midget.

You have to change a setting in your forum options somewhere for it to save sent messages.

@Dankmar, I think it's good it's a  bit bulkier, skaven do vary in size. Looking forward to seeing your lovely textures for it .

Let me tell you what you're missing there...

-A cape, stormies always have a cape

-SPIKES, MORE SPIKES, HOW DARE YOU MAKE A SKAVEN MODEL WITHOUT SPIKES?!?!?

-A crest in the helmet. That's their rank symbol or something

Maybe you were about to put that on, but I'm just remarking it in case you weren't going to.

Ehhh, the nippon chaos thing looks great but lore wise it doesnt make much sense. In WF chaos is much more geography based than in 40k so it seems odd that they could reach that far given that their center is at the far north. Looks cool nonetheless.
