Hello dudes,

I´ve done a research on arms and armors evolution during TPW. My focus was on the Lacs but, it is pretty much useful for us here and now.

My references were the wonderful Osprey books and a little of Wikipedia. Also some Steven Pressfield books

I hope you enjoy!

Well, going forward...

This chart is very useful. I´ll give you an example.

At the battle of Leuktra in 371 BC some thought Lacs fhought with no body armor and that they have only used the pilos helmets. So this was the picture:

Later on, after some discussions, and perhaps discoveries/researches, historians have come to an agreement that the picture should be corrected to this:

So, the main infantry might be wearing linothoraxes instead, elites with plates, chalsidean helmets, and even greaves. The only 2 royal bodyguards still wearing the dokanas (that symbol) on their shields, everyone wearing sandals, and so.

I am terribly sorry for not remembering the source!

You know, I´ve already read tons of Greek stuff and I can´t remember all the sources.
