War with minor faction

If I were to attack a neutral merc clan, minor faction (elephteroi, lake rats...) that is currently not allied with any major faction I would be in war only with that clan.
If that clan were to ally with a major faction, would I automatically be in war also with the major faction to which it allied to?

Yes. And I seems to be in current version if you then become a merc for a kingdom at peace with them it will give you peace with that minor clan. In older versions they would refuse you a merc contract of you were at war with a minor clan that was not at war with them. I don't know how the game treat a ruler attacking a minor clan, if it's treated like starting a war in the warscore, there's supposed to be some aggressor system where starting more wars wakes it more likely to be declared on, but I don't know the details of it.
