I'm surprised no one has mentioned this, but maybe it does not count as a "bug". In battles the button to give orders to companions (i.e. Marnid, Borcha etc) doesn't seem to be working. 1 is everyone, 2 archers, 3 infantry, 4 cavalry and 5 "others" (presumably companions), but when I press 5, I get "everyone" appearing on the screen.

You have to select a group first, and then press 5, for example I usually select archers first to "hold this position" on a hill, then 5 to get Infantry and Cavalry to follow me or charge  Simple as that. If you have not pressed 2-4 before you press 5, the 5 button will select everyone

Thanks, but how do i just select my companions; i.e. Marnid, Borcha etc?

You.. can't? Has that been possible in the earlier versions? I havent used the other heros, usually I go just solo with my normal army recruits, without Marnid, Borcha etc., in this savegame im playing now I have them both + Rolf. The game treats them as infantry, cavalry or arches, whatever they are specialised in..

But the "5" botton is supposed to be "others" (presumably companions), but when I press that one, I get the "everyone" command.

I don't know if this is a bug or a feature, but sometimes it seems as if shields aren't blocking arrows or bolts for me at all. I'll have a size 90 shield covering my face and most of my body and still receive crossbow bolts square between the eyes from somebody directly in front of me even though I've never put the shield down.

Also - crossbows need to be pumped up for damage. When firing a heavy crossbow recently I shot someone straight through the neck and it only did 12 damage. Often I'll fire more than seven bolts into somebody's chest and they won't die.

Soldiers charging up siege ladders can't seem to make it onto the walls even if the way is clear for them. They get stuck on the ladder and stay there. I lost 40 hired blades this way assaulting Praven, not just because of enemy crossbowmen, but because once I had cleared the way for my troops to get onto the walls they just stayed still on the ladders.

i found 7 bugs:

1. when i was in zendar training a the man i killed bounced right off the wall and over to the other side.(not importand actually but still)

2. when training i killed the tier two man by blocking when i got back on my feet after being knocked down.

3. in arena xerina started swinging against the wall where the audience are sitting then she got killed because she didn't wanted to fight the enemies.

4. champion fighter continued to attack a man after he was dead with a sword, then he got killed from another fighter behind.

5. i recruited three times from the same village at the same time first screen when i arrive at the village recruit volunteers, at the village elder then again at the first screen.

6. invisible wall in ushkuru when i attacked looted it.

7. caravans stop when the meet other caravans on the same road. they have been at the same spot for 3 weeks now. (don't know if this matter but it is khergit and nord)

Another siege related problem, it seems when firing off the ramparts at people in the courtyard, when enemy reinforcements arrive arrows get glitched and do no damage for a short period of time...

As to the glitch 2 above mine, i've found some cities work better than others in this regard...

Easy to fix i guess...More siege towers!

IIRC, In earlier versions, like .808, the "5" button was "heroes". Now it's just a quick key to select everyone that's not currently selected.
I for one certainly miss the opportunity to order my NPC's around as sergeants. Also, the never seem to respond to infantry or archers respectively, depending on their weapons. Arm Ralf with a crossbow and he won't know what he is.

Grammar bug:

Speaking to Manhunters:

"Bastards. Come on boys let's go get them. Thanks a lot friend."

Should read:

"Bastards. Come on, boys, let's go get them. Thanks a lot, friend."

On day two, the end of the week message popped up and deducted money for my troops pay..... on day three, the end of the week message popped up and deducted money for my troops pay.

You can imagine my dismay .
----------
It only happened on the first character I created for .901 (a minor noble with 1 hired blade, 3 mercs, and three farmers). I had to delete due to an RGL error and reinstalled using the full installer (no further crashes). If I can recreate the "end of week" error, I'll modify this entry with more details.

Found 2 things so far.  This is on a clean install of .901.

1.  When I was helping out a Khergit village that was infested with 33 bandits (don't remember which one, sorry) I found that one of the horsebacked bandits' horse was stuck in a wall behind one of the houses.  He tried to make it move, then I saw him dismount, after which he disappeared.  My army and I wasted the rest of the enemies, only to find that the battle wasn't over.  One of my colleagues ran up to the back of the house and started swinging at the wall repeatedly until he killed the bandit that was stuck behind the wall.

2.  After I completed a quest that brought 6 sacks of wheat to the Nord village of Ambear.  After the completion, I spoke to the village elder and he referred to Ambean as "The village of Poor..."  I believe that the village's name was being pulled from its status and not its actual name.

I am encountering a strange bug involving pretty much all quests in .901:

For every quest I am given, be it from a lord or guild master, on the quest screen the description is some random dialog. So for example, I will speak to a lord and he will say "...you must hunt down a man named Very Poor" and then in the quest screen it will say under that description: "...you have earned 50 Constable Hareck thank you and go on your way" or some other nonsensical jumble of game dialog from other points in the game. Then if I complete the quest, the message will flash "quest failed" even when I recieve the reward from whoever gave it out. I can keep talking to that person again and again, getting the reward several times. It seems that the quest is not removed from the list when it is completed but instead it somehow loops back through the quest failed event.

Anyone suggestions or explanations?

This is from a fresh installation of .901

Possible quest bug:

- At one point in my game the lord quests got caught in a loop. Every time I talked to them they would offer the "lend Rolf for a week" quest. I didn't want to do it, because I loathe giving away my companions, but they were persistent -- they wouldn't give me any other quests! Eventually I caved in to their demands and was able to take other quests, and poor Rolf went into bondage for a week . Has anyone else experienced problems with infinite quest loops?

Something weird is going on in my game: I keep seeing battles between lords who belong to the same faction. Right now, a Khergit castle is being besieged by a Khergit army and a Rhodok lord is chasing another Rhodok lord.
Has anyone seen anything like this??

Upd: ah, that's #14 on page 1. Ok then.

Yeah, I put it down to having nearly every other quest type active so that was the only one left available. It was however quite annoying so I caved in. Thought nothing of it at the time but I did get other quests after it (maybe I completed some in the mean time)

Also on quests - If you take a quest with a Lord who then becomes your enemy it is a major pain to get rid of it. I can't do/remove recruitment quests for my side as the lord which offered the quest is my enemy. I know it is possible if you meet them in a town or if you overpower them but it is difficult when it's their king (or parties with followers), who always challenge(s) you. Maybe the option to send a messenger to cancel a quest would be good - can be done through dialogue menu.

First comma is superfluous (Bwahahaaaa XD) - it should be "Bastards.  Come on boys, let's go get them.  Thanks a lot, friend."

Don't ask me why, it's just how speech patterns work in English - to give your voice a more authoritative tone, you often close the gaps between words/phrases.  By saying "come on boys" as opposed to "come on, boys", the inflection is that you are telling the "boys" to do something, whereas in "come on, boys", the inflection is more that you are selecting the "boys" to do something..

Yes, I'm sorry, that was confusing, but still undeniably true (though technically, your version is right - it's just an idiom of speech.  There, I managed to relay my meaning without being too complex!  Why am I still typing in parentheses?).  Also, I haven't slept for...... 22 hours.  Feck it, let's make it to 36!

I distinctly remember that it was NOT the only type of quest left available. Which is why it struck me as odd.

Or quests with enemy factions should simply terminate when you choose a side. Messenger idea is good, though. In fact, messengers sound like an interesting idea overall -- I could see them being used for a lot of things in-game aside from canceling quests. Maybe you could put that in the suggestions thread? If you don't, I'll stick it there and just give you credit for it

I have seen most of these but a couple I have not run into yet, I am running the patched version "mb_upgrade_0894_to_0901.exe"
Can I get confermation that these only apply to the full version or is anyone else seeing them on the patched version as well?

2. Garrisoned troops are still counted in the party total, and take up slots despite being in a castle. The party total will display the number of troops the player owns, but the garrisoned troops won't be listed in the troop list.

****  I have 2 castles with many garrisoned troops of all types, none are takeing up any space in my party roster. ****

5. Seems to be a bug with recruitment (seen it mainly at villagers) where the volunteers will be the player. Accepting them as recruits fills their slots in the party screen, but nobody will appear in battle and similar. These invisible troops seem to permanently take up their slots, even after the player has been captured.

*****I either get recruits or I don't. I have seen no problems thus far*****

Or maby there is something more spacific that triggers the bug?
