[v0.62] Khergit siege crash (save included)

Whenever I siege a castle and enter the battle in the save game provided, the game crashes. Error provided is the Windows standard program stopped responding. I'm not sure what exactly causes the crash, but it could be when I or someone else hits their specific round shields. That's how it has crashed at least twice now.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Load provided save.
2. Besiege the castle right in front of the player party.
3. Enter battle and fight normally (or try hitting the enemies in such a way that their shields get hit).

Edit: Yes, I have tried stuff like limiting the max battle size and changing video options, like the texture detail, but that doesn't seem to be the issue here.

 
I have the same issue. Also I believe there is something with some shield that causes this issue. I think its a texture or mesh that causes the crash. I made a post about it a long time ago but it it still current. Ive tried mostly anything to fix it but I have failed.
 
Can't you just use Morgh's to replace the problem shield with something else? I haven't run into this issue yet though I noticed one of the shields mesh is missing.
 
Well yeah, that's exactly what I did. A little immersion breaking, but better than crashing. I just wanted to document this issue here in the extremely unlikely chance that someone picks this project up. Heck, I've been thinking of doing it myself, but I am way too lazy for that.
 
How did you use morgh's to correct this?

I'm running into this every Khegit battle/siege.... even the black khergits. I essentially can't directly fight the 3rd most powerful faction in my current game.
 
Simple really. I just edited the troops with the tool so their item pool didn't have the shields they currently have and replaced them with others. A bad way to go about fixing it, but it works.
 
I'm not sure which ones are causing the problem, all I know is you get an error message when viewing shields in the all items menu.
 
I haven't really run into that problem. But i have a shield texture missing.

Called "Xenoargh_round_shield02". I bought it and have it in my inventory, but can't see it. (Wanted to fix it so i could use it because it was alot better than what i had xD)

Anyhow... i redownloaded the game... and it was the same... The weird part is that when i look at the textures.. i do find the "Xenoargh_round_shield02" texture file(s). So i can't really understand why it won't load into the game :S
 
I used Morghs editor to change the texture from 02 to "xenoargh_round_shield01" (not the same texture, if anyone wonders) and now it works fine for me :smile:
still weird that they cant find it when i have the 02 textures in my m&b folder.
 
So I think I found out what the problem is. Even tho the textures exist for that shield, no 3D mesh is attached to it. I'm trying to figure out what would be the best way to fix and distribute the said fix in a way which is easy enough for people to use.
