Downloading some mods can sometimes be a pain in the ass especially when you've been waiting to get your hands on this mod for quite a while and the download is slow or the link is down.
Is there any possibility that we could perhaps create a website to share mods through torrents?

Can't people just host their torrents on rapidshare, and then people can download them? Why would we need a specialised website?

Ah true. never really thought of that. Still it would be better if torrents were a more popular medium for download.

Thats very true.
I hate when I see a brand new mod come out and get all happy to play it.
and it takes several hours to Download.

Thus, pissing me off I cancel it. =P

Well, if anyone wants to host a private tracker, sure!
Or make a new download site where people can upload their mods.

I wont come far with my 1Mbit upload

True, true.
But that's another thing that concerns me.
Some sites that have a mod has been uploaded on have a virus.
Infact, I've gotten two virus's that nearly wrecked my computer.
Maybe it was from the file itself? If not, then I'll stick to the Repository

I don't understand how people can get viruses.

Just get kaspersky and be smart.

I don't think torrents are the way forward.

There are plenty of free upload sites out there which do the job alot faster.

Superantispyware and Ad-Aware are ftw, torrents would be nice for the mods if we got enough people to use them/seed them and the likes.

Jesus, you're impatient.
No, It is just the fact..I do not feel it necessary to spend several hours waiting for a mod to download.
Also, I am not sure how my computer got the Virus, But certain mod's are being picked up as a virus.

AND

McAfee and Spybot S&D for the win.

Funny how a discussion over the use of torrents turns into computer security. But I guess that would be expected in some way.
Well, I'll get us back on topic. =P

If a torrent where made, would it be useable by all countrys?
Since, I figure it'll be English only?

I don't understand the question very well. But as long as you read and write English, you'd be able to download and use any material this board creates since it is the 'English Board'.

That is why people should also upload their mod on "sharebee" which uploads what they uploaded on many different uploading sites* (5 in total) so that doesn't happen.

*Megaupload, rapidshare, badongo, zShare and DepositFiles
