Profiles deleting when restarting game

Hello everyone,
basically I had a problem where if I created a new character, or tried to delete one, if I restarted the game it either wasn't deleted or created. So I deleted the profile.dat file and now if I create a character and then restart the game, it's not there anymore.
Any help, please?

After this whole thing happened, I was playing in multiplayer when at some point there was a massive crash (I mean game crashing, lots of people were crashing out of game too indeed), and my game crashed too. When I tried running it again through steam it didn't work, nothing happened, same thing when I opened mb_warband.exe, but if I tried using mb_warband_old or mb_warband_vanilla.exe it worked and I could even see my profiles.

So now how can I get my mb_warband.exe to work again? And if it works, and profiles are still broken, how can I solve that?

Hello Gab

Strange, have you tried to restart the computer, (Sometimes it might help in some occasions)

Else try to Re-install the game, that might diffidently help.
