I tend to work with a lot of windows open at once. One of my peeves is the little hole thing you get when you tile rounded edged windows.

The blockiness and simplicity is also the reason I love the Windows Phone 7's interface.

As to desktops, I've never felt any need for them to be "pretty", I just want to be able to find things.
