The Oceanic Weekly Scrim Night

>>Be on the Ventrilo you were private messaged at 8:15pm on Sunday, the 29th..<<

FACTIONS THIS WEEK: Nords vs Rhodoks

The idea behind this is to encourage people that are interested in playing in more organised team vs team matches, to have a medium to do so on, on a weekly basis.  It's clear that clan vs clan matches have drawn to a halt at this point, so Dalla and myself came to the conclusion that creating a pool of players willing to actually compete, and play in these matches was a fairly good solution (if only a temporary one).  This means that members from different clans (or people not even in clans) will play with one another, and against one another.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

What you need to know:

• Matches will be conducted every Sunday night at 8:30pm Sydney time.

• You must have Ventrilo.

• If you're interested, you should show up on the night at around 8:15pm (on Ventrilo, I will PM the details).

• The original post in the thread will be updated with the weekly announcement of faction, map and any other information that is essential.

• We will try to make teams as equal and as balanced as possible, according to what people feel are their strong points in-game.

• We will play a minimum of 7 vs 7 in these matches, and a maximum of 9 vs 9.  There will be a fair bit of lenience regarding the precise amount of players -- however, if you turn up early, you're more likely to get in.

• You've got to let me know that you're interested.  Reply in the thread, and please include what you like to play most (Archer, Cav, Infantry or Xbow).

• YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE IN A CLAN TO PARTICIPATE, ALL THAT IS REQUIRED IS AN INTEREST IN ORGANISED "CLAN-STYLE" MATCHES.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Match Rules:

• Battle mode.

• First half: 6 rounds will be played, you don't have to win 6 rounds for your team, 6 rounds just need to be played.
  Swap sides.
Second half: First to 8 wins, if both teams reach 6 wins each, it is a draw.  We may do overtime, depending on what happens.

• Ruins only (until custom maps are finished).

• Master of the Field flags have been removed.

• Avoiding intentional drawing of the match.

• Unlimited infantry allowed per team.
  • The following weapons are banned:
-Rhodok stun hammers (not including Spiked Staff).
-Rhodok pike (not Ashwood, the 245 one).
  -Swadian Great Lance.

• Two cavalry allowed per team.
  • No armoured horses.

• Two archers/crossbowmen allowed per team (meaning two bows or crossbows -- you can't buy additional bows/xbows to hand out to team members, you can only have one).

• Friendly fire will be on for both melee and ranged at 100% with no reflective damage.

• Rounds will last for 10 minutes.

• Spectator settings locked to team member's view.

• Combat speed medium.

• Default gold gain (1000 starting gold, 500 round end gold, 100% kill gold)

• A screenshot of each half should be taken after each match, and posted in the thread or sent to Dalla or myself.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Player Pool:

Cavalry: Bobstar, J, Sundeki

Infantry: Alatoras, Azraine, Chrome, Damian, El Mudo, Kimbo, Knightmeister, MajorPayne, Marshall, Matt, Minsc, Papa Lazarou, Scorch, Spartacus, Spirit, Thorn, Xomrade

Bumpity bump.

Oh and for those who don't understand the two halves system, I'll explain it here.

First half: 6 rounds will be played, you don't have to win 6 rounds for you're team., 6 rounds just need to be played.

Swap sides

Second half : First to 8 wins, if both teams reach 6 wins each, it is a tie. and perhaps a voted on OVERTIME

rules updated for clarity

the time is now, comrades

we'll have the first one tomorrow night if we get the numbers

It seems to be pretty difficult to get 14, let alone 18 guys in total for a one off non-clan thing.  Like it says, we can add a couple more numbers if there are that many around.
