No Lords?

Hi

I have just started up a kingdom and got my Marshall or whoever to recruit some lords.  I got 6, the max I could get with my fiefs, all in one go, and waited a day.  Then it told me they'd joined the kingdom and I assigned all the fiefs to them.  Their gathering place was meant to be Jelbegi Castle but there's noone there.  It's been about 2 weeks now and my lords still don't seem to exist.  I ask my guy where they are and he says he doesn't know - is this a bug?

That is typical Mount & Blade single player, They've probably been captured or having a wank in the corner of the map.
