Mount and Blade: Fire and Sword CD-Key Problem on Steam

Good Afternoon,
I bought M&B Fire and Sword today but i cannot activate it on Steam. I have a 3x5 Key and I put him on the 5x5 box of Steam but still it does not work. I leave the last two boxes empty but still it does not work. I tried many times and changed the letters but still... What should I do? Is it possible to install it without Steam or in a different way?

I have just the Fire and Sword game, no Warband or the normal Mount and blade game.... does it matter?

i have all 3 and serials wont work either for it I'm just guessing its case i bought it True taleworlds it self, so i guess that's why it doesn't get accepted on steam since it isn't bought true steam

Rasphail, if you did not buy the game through Steam (or in a boxed version), then you cannot activate the game with Steam. You can add it to Steam as a non-Steam game to use the chat client, but that is it.

Otherwise, get the game from Taleworlds.com and the serial you were provided by the online retailer should work on that version.

(Whether or not you own other Taleworlds products has no bearing on this, no.)
