Modify RAM requirements ?

Users who are viewing this thread

Hi,

I just want to give a feedback about RAM requirements : I was really frustrated by lags and freezes in the game until I triple my memory. I used 10 Go of DDR3 and even with all settings on low the game was nearly unplayable with more than 100 units on the battlefield. After reading some threads I decided to boost my PC and I have installed 32 Go of DDR3 today. Now I can run the game on very high resolution with the battle limit set to 1000 (even siege except those of Battanian Castle but it seem to be knowned).

So I think that you should modify the RAM requirements because 8 Go is really not enough !

Computer Specs
:
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
GPU Driver Version: GeForce 460.89
CPU: Intel core i7
RAM: DDR3 32Go
Motherboard: MSI B75MA-P45
Storage Device (HDD/SSD): HDD HGST HTS 721010A9E630

Thanx to the team, keep going !

I think it's complicated.

I have 64gb ram on my main laptop, which plays it seamlessly periodically, but it has terrible thermal throttling which leads it to stutter and freeze even when I turn the graphics right down. On the other hand my old laptop only has 8gb ram but plays seamlessly on low graphics because it doesn't throttle.

Try to open it and remove the dust from the fans. If you know what you are doing you could also try to replace thermal paste, sometimes it gets dry but this is quite complicated for most laptops.

You could also try a cooling pad, which is essentially a few extra fans positioned below your laptop.

? What is your PC configuration ?

I have a SSD ttoo, but the game is not installed there, since the SSD is for work business

All my game and some docs are on my HD

This is quiet interesting because you have less proc’ but (far ?) better graphic card and (so much ?) less memory than me.

I read that pathfinding was the hard part during battles (using proc’) and the laggs/stuttering I experienced before update my memory seem to confirm that (by unallowing calculus quick enough) but your case doesn’t confirm this analysis... Unless the graphic card is used for relieve the proc’. I don’t know if this kind of optimization could have already been implemented ?

I'm running 16gb of ddr3 and never see it above 60% load in game.....

Which mean up to 9,6 Go used at least... We are always above the 8 Go of the recommand conf’.

And by my case it looks like if 10 Go aren’t enough so I think that 8 Go as minimal requirement and 12 recommanded would be more honnest.

TBH 8GB might be enough if there was no memory leaks and putting down graphics actually have effect on performance(which often do not have - sometimes quite opposite.

I agree with that but it’s not the case as you said. I’m not blaming the dev’ team because it’s assumed that the game is currently an open beta but TW should be more realistic on the requirements

When you want to buy the game you can read that it´s WIP and that you need 8 Go for play but it’s not the case so if the « open beta » is assumed why not the higher requirements ?

Honnestly I think that there is some commercial leader who decided to not affraid the community by showing the real requirements « as stated » by the technical team but I think that they could loose more players by hiding it.

I have waited since around 9 months before buy the game In order to have something at least stable and when I have decided to go on I discover that I need update my hardware. Si I did it but I think that most of the players could or want not and will just « past the way » and never come back...

In my opinion any person hoping to play any 3d games in 2021 should have a minimum of 16 GB of ram. My windows with just chrome open uses like 6 GB
