Modders Medikit

Messed up a text file mucking about with things you don't understand?
Forgot to back up your native module folder?
A mod you installed ruined everything?
Yea, I remember being a noob and having to reinstall M&B too.

Here is a series of downloads that can fix small problems quite easily, eliminating the need for a reinstall.
The main download for now focuses on the Native Warband 1.134 folder. The downloads include the .txt, .ini, and scene objects.

The full suite of CommonRes files -64.72 MB

In the future i plan to include legacy files, core game files (textures, meshes, ini's) and the origional M&B native files
I don't think there will be very much demand for this kind of thing at all. I do know that the people who do need this sort of
thing need it bad, so thats why i took the time to make this thread.

Please post questions, comments and most importantly, requests.
I will see what I can do.

Good idea for the meshes. Honestly, you know what I believe is most needed would be a full backup of all commonres and textures. Then a backup of sound and music.
People like me may eventually need that...although it will be faster to redownload the whole game again. Lol

Good suggestions! They will be put in next.
I am planning on breaking it up into small chunks for quicker download.

Yeah, good idea. I personally wouldn't redownload an entire list of 1+ gigs of material in one crack unless my files all got really jacked up.

A little off topic, I've been meaning to do this for some time, but I've never been able to do it on account of my slow upload speed, and now you beat me to it!

I'm glad someone else thinks its a decent idea. I've been putting it off because I forgot how crippling it can be
when you ruin your game files, lost or destroyed the installer, and your internet sucks, or you are too new to understand
whats going on when you install a mod.
We'll see how this turns out.

-Addendum-

I think I will sort larger files by alphabetical order. The CommonRes *.brf files for example be split into groups. A large group
such as the A's will be their own download, where as tht Q's will be lumped in with an adjacent letter. Also
Small tutorials for noobs is a must.

Good idea with the alphabetic order too.
One more idea, make a backup of your mb_warband exe and all the DLL files. It doesn't matter if your WB is registered, because it's stored in the registry, that way if someone overwrites DLL files (or puts a crack and then gets the full version legally) they can do it without hassle. Since obviously people do pirate the game (and get banned here because of it....). Just a thought.

It was in the works...
I can imagine any file can be damaged some how, but some things should be left unsaid. Having a pirated version of Mount and Blade is like having A pirated version of Dwarf fortress. You are just a cheap, stupid, *******. (The guys from DF make a living off donations, same as the guys from taleworlds make a living off of "donations".)

I know.... I have a friend who pirated (and still owns the pirated version) MB because he didn't feel like spending the 8 Dollars (we have a half price books by us) to buy the game....

But I have made the mistake of overwriting the DLL files before. And I had to redownload the 580mb installer to fix it. O.O
