Moderators are forum members who voluntarily help out to keep the pace. For all intents and purposes they/we are still forum members like you and others, we do not get paid by Taleworlds.
Thus not every post of a moderator is actually a post made for moderator-reasons, in fact it's mostly the reverse with most posts not being for moderator purposes.
Saying 'calm down' or to 'put that ban hammer down slightly' to a completely normal answer, seems to me, to be rather disrespectful and unnecessary.
