Licensed game engines tend to offer a flexible approach to game development by providing a variety of options and features for a wide range of genres. However, developing your own game engine allows you to create exactly what you need for the task at hand. Granted, it is a monumental task to undertake, but we feel that the benefits far outweigh the time, energy and financial investments required to produce something which will allow us to achieve our goals and ultimately improve the quality of the final product. Our engine, which was built entirely in-house, focuses on the crucial needs of Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord. It is tailored to helping the game reach its full potential, which is something that would be hard to accomplish with another engine. This is what our engine team tries to achieve. Smooth gameplay, big battles and great visuals are their primary ambition. Murat Türe, Lead Programmer of the engine team, works on making Bannerlord optimised, moddable and huge, while retaining all of the key features which made our previous games so successful.

[/parsehtml]Read more at: http://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord/Blog/25

I'm glad to hear the editor has many more and fleshed out tools.
It would be nice to decorate a castle I own or add/move a few objects around to make it feel more unique.

you can always learn how to use the scene editor (basic modding). It shouldn't take more than a couple hours to learn some basics and play around with your castle.

Some games include some in-game building features (like Fallout 4). Maybe Bannerlord will too (at release or later via patches/DLC), but those features are optional if you are a PC gamer.

Soooo...
PC Masterrace?

TaleWorlds say they are ambitious. Hopefully ambitious enough to allow home customization with trade-offs and actual game effects, not simple cosmetics.
And no, please don't leave it to the modders, they are busy with their own features.

That was denied.

What do you mean?

I know that, I was saying I hope the editor mode can be used to edit scenes, just like the warband one.

Definately this. If i wanted a bunch of valandian bodies hung up for display I should be able to add some rope and ragdolls in the editor.

I think there is no faction representing the future Rhodoks (or crossbows) ;(

Vlandians have been confirmed as the ancestors of both the Rhodoks and Swadians. We have seen crossbowmen with board shields amongst the Vlandians

But rhodoks were celts(At least many believed so) and battanians are Celts while Swadians and Vlandians are Western Europeans

Many said Rhodoks were italian, others said Rhodoks were french, etc. etc.
Rhodoks are just Rhodoks. Swadians are just Swadians, the list goes on... In any case, yes Rhodoks and Swadians once were the same.

Rhodoks are celts? They hardly show it.
There is a mild Italian influence with the pike and pavise shields. The rhodoks also share the noble democracy of Italian republics.
Even then, battanians and Rhodoks are located in completely different areas of calradia.

But we know that the rhodoks split from the Swadians from lore, and the vlandians are the ancestors of the swadians, so we know that they are related.
Battanians are probably the ancestors of the forest bandits, as they are unique.
