Dark, Gritty and Colorless world map is pissing on my parade.

Users who are viewing this thread

Hey everyone. I was a huge fan of Floris, and so far I'm loving this mod.

I had this problem with floris too, and I'm sure I'm not the only one, but anyway, I'll get on with it.

The map is too dark, gray, colorless and gritty. The vanilla map was vibrant, bright, and lively. The map this mod is using is too dark and lifeless, and frankly, it's just bumming me the **** out.

Mount and blade is a pretty dark game thematically, what with all the killing. Getting done slaughtering people who don't look like me then turning around and having to look at this grimdark gritty colorless world just makes me too sad.

For those who don't really know what I'm talking about, look at these pictures.

As you can see, it's pretty dark and ****ty. At night on max settings it's unplayable IMO, and I'd like to be able to completely gut this feature out of the mod on my end.

I think it's called HD World Map 1.1 or something along those lines.
Anyway, any help would be appreciated

Edit:
Not trying to come off as crass or unappreciative with this post, but this dark world map is really ****ting on my experience with this otherwise amazing mod.

Any help: I'm a noob in these kind of scenarios but i turn up the monitor gamma if things get a little too dark in night battles.

Best of luck with your problem.
I for one enjoy the gloomyness and am stuned at how bad the native map look in comparison.

To each his own, I suppose. I personally prefer the native map by far.

Anyone have a potential solution? I'm primarily looking to get the native world textures and lighting back.

Given you already asked this multiple times on the much more populated floris board and didn't get the answer you were looking for: I'm sorry to say this but i don't think you are going to get any thing better than "You could adjust the gamma bwahhh" in this forum that, to put it mildly, is quite quiet.
I'm aware you're just putting it out there, i just thought i would give you the heads up on the nonexistent possibility of a satisfying answer.

I fully understand. I was just hoping that maybe this time around someone would have a solution. No harm, no foul.

As others have pointed out, the map textures are the same as in Floris. I prefer it that way. You can probably change that without using the module system though, so hopefully someone on the forge should be able to tell you how to do it.
