For the first and second idea, it is not related AT ALL to Custom settlements.  If you want better gore and battle sounds, try Brutality by Vilhjalmr.

And the third is a bug, not a feature yet to be added, and will be fixed in .4.  Read the topic!

for one, there is no topic for this, i was adding suggestions, the topic is about my suggestions, not asking for bugs, and i have found the brutality mod, thanks for pointing that one out

Okay great, but your suggestion is already in the game, except there is a bug which prevents it from working.  Just saying.

Hey there, just thought id add a few more suggestions, this will be my 3rd set

First suggestion
Forced soldiers, in your settlement, when you have some people and popularity, you can have an option by your stewert, to force some of the population into the military.
- "Add some of the people from this town to my army" (adds, 5 recruts of the chosen faction to join your army, reduces town popularity by 2)

Second suggestion
Bribery, there a few things that can happen with this idea:
- "Bride the villagers in this village to send people to your settlement" (Every 500g sends 4 people, no popularity requierment)
- "Bribe the lord #name#" this option would be from a new character in the settlement, such as political advisor
- "Bribe these bandits" This is an option that would be avaible wioth the bandits that enter your territory and cause trouble, for them to either join you, or leave the area and pick on someone else

Third suggestion
Dealing with the political advisor stated in the above suggestion, this guy would otherwise deal in your standing with other factions, examples of options are:
- "Call #faction leader# for a meeting with me" This would send a messanger out to the faction leader you choose to meet you in a location so you can talk with him
- "Send a gift to #faction#" This would increase standing with that faction, like 1000 gold will increase standing by 2, or 10000 gold would increase by 20
- "Ask for military assistance from #faction#" Now this would all be based on your standing with them, and their standing with the faction your asking them to go to war with, but if they agree, then they go to war with the faction you asked for help for, like you need to have a difference of 50 standing with them in order for them to accept, like if the enemy you want to war with is -25 standing with them, you only need 25 standing, or if their 0 standing with the faction your asking for help with, you need 50 standing with them

If you like more detailed ideas for the political advisor id be happy to give more options, and more ideas comming soon

Thanks for reading these ideas and I wish you best of luck

The patrols sorta do that already lol

It would be nice if we can hire assaisians lol one assaisn came in my city i turned around to look at her and all the sound thud thud came the knives that missed me by cms lol good thing my guards took the shots sadly i lost a recruit in that small skirmish it would be nice if we can do that to other lords too XD

O by the way this is for [people] who still want to take there stewards into battle

You can do this either with the troop editor (see post above) or you can do it manually. If you do it manually, you need to open troops.txt and change all instances of 268435472 to 16, EXCEPT for the first one (unless you want to be able to garrison yourself!) and then the first 6 instances of 268435473 to 17 (you could change all of them, but that would make all the wives and daughters garrisonable - it probably wouldn't hurt anything to do that, though).

It's actually pretty quick to use a replace all and swap them all... even moreso than using the troop editor

So basically go into whatever text editor you use, open up the replace window, put in 268435472 to be replaced with 16, and hit replace all - then change the first one back to 268435472 (unless you want to garrison yourself... not sure what that might do). Then put in 268435473 to be replaced with 17, and hit the replace button 6 times. Or just hit replace all if you want to be able to garrison noblewomen (I think they are the ones used in escort quests).

Note: If you do this, garrisoned heroes will tell you to die if you talk to them, because they have no conversation set up for being in a castle. It will also cause an issue later due that can duplicate heroes if you leave them, find them again, then talk to them in the garrison. If you want to add conversation for them being in a castle and fix this issue, see this post.

It seems I forgot to note that this one requires a new game. Lord Kinlar said it, but since I linked here I should say it here. So, this requires a new game due to the way the troops are stored in savegames.

i have plans for high corruption in a settlement to allow you to hire bandits.

for forced soldiers idea.. you can currently do "Recruit training" in the "Organize populace" menu, and that will turn a bunch (higher training skill turns more) of your peasants into recruits of whatever culture you pick through the "Manage Faction" menu.

any political options will likely be best put through the steward.

and for bringing your steward into battle, the stewards main purpose is to mind your castle while you're away and to lead its troops, so not sure why you'd want to take it out heh.  the steward can still help you in battles, as any battles that take place near the settlement will have the steward fighting from within your castle.

how could I get a steward?
I try many times but I don't have a steward and I cant garrisoned troops to 2 others camp
I can only garrison troops in custow(don't know why)

if you are useing the most updated version, than to get a steward you need to go to your castle in custow and ask her, like creating a lord, as for garrisoning troops in your other settlements, you cant, thats upto the lords of those settlements  however you can give your lords troops, and if it was a high enough number he will in turn garrison people in the settlement at some point or another

The other Settlements are for your future lords ;p that you have to go to your capital (the one you can garrison men in) and then go into the castle and ask your favorite hero to become the lord ;p

Oh just an FYI i finally got sieged by another lord at my settlement in Effleton or something like that they only did a small skirmish with me but then after losing about 2 men they ran off and it never happened again

Oh yes but you should put in a button that says You are now dismissed from your office that way we can switch lords or stewards whenever we want

hmm, good idea wu-long, im for it

ya, im planning to add in the ability to dismiss stewards and lords (lords would have the chance to disobey and go rogue unless they really love you), and im planning to add access to your stewards inventory and character sheet.

i dont want complete access to your lords settlements is the reason why i dont want to allow you to garrison troops there.  i also don't want you to have direct access to your lords parties troops, tho for now i left that in so you can atleast kind of help them.

i have a solution that should solve my main concern and allow you to give troops to your settlements and your lords:  i'll let you access an empty temporary party, and any troops you add to it will all be added to the lords party or settlement (whichever one you're dealing with).  does that sound useful?

version 0.4 should be out this weekend, but for your problem with AI warfare, you'll have to wait til 0.5 and 0.6 for those to be perfected (thats when i'll be working on proper settlement enemy factions and raiding, conquering, and razing).

will it be possible, to be able to personally loot and burn a village? like, can we actually run in there on our horse, with a torch in our hand and light fire to the buildings?

The burning should be pretty easy IF you figure out how to get dynamic spawning of non-agent models to work.

ya, ill know more by version 0.7 when i start into dynamic objects.  i do want to make looting more interesting, so torching things and finding their stocks of supplies are ideas im thinking about.

I think this thread should be in the Pioneer's Guild, as it is growing to be far more than a modder's resource or anything like that.  Fantastic work man.

im good either way heh.  when its around version 1.0 ill worry about it and if its still here ill just post a new thread in pioneers.

New idea popped into my head, dealing with a new settlement area. It would be a graveyard.....as I was in a massive battle, both teams took hefty casualties (theirs took far more than mine) it came to me, why cant I do anything in honor of my fallen comrade's, so I thought, "HEY! We need to have a  graveyard to hold cermionies for the dead", I enjoy slaughting countless people and killing everything in sight, but I gotta respect my troops who carry out my will without question, so ya, a graveyard would be cool to honor my guys, it could add some popularity to the settlement every time i hold a cerimony, and cost some gold to do it, what do ya think?
